It's not just Plymouth they’re awful, there's a bunch in the area that are terrible. There's one on Northline just west of Wayne Road that I'm better off driving over the tracks themselves than use the actual road it's so bad. No signs of them being fixed any time soon. And that's why I ended up working at Ford. I tried to get into NS but then I did some digging and realized it's not for me.

I just looked at it on google earth and yeah it looks like there's approximately 0 customers on that line outside of the assembly plant and they don't produce any substantial volume right now.

Also what a screwy route. Why does it cross over Joslyn Rd. 3 different times in as many miles? Stupid.

CN hasn't filed to abandon anything. My guess is that except for grade crossings, the line will stay in place indefinitely until hopefully someday there's high volume production again coming out of that plant-- in 1988 it made about 1,000 a day. You can very clearly see most of the line's remnants if you follow its former routing. A shame they didn't pave it into a rail trail as a lot of the RoW still remains.

I wish there were more rail trails in general in Michigan.

What are the hours?

I doubt they run to Flat Rock every Saturday, it's probably on an as-needed basis.
