Re: Heartland Corridor
I don't think we can draw too many conclusions with the Corridor only having been open 4 days. What we do know is the both 233 and 234 are carrying stacks at present with decent lengths to boot (the I34 that ran Friday had 6300' of train into Portsmouth). 217/218 are also supposed to start carrying ...

Re: Heartland Corridor
Where did you see 234 though, as they have handled stacks west of Columbus for sometime?

Re: Heartland Corridor
I haven't heard anything official that the Dayton District is getting anything just yet until the clearance projects are completed. As for the trains we know that are coming, 235/236, it is expected that they will go via the Fostoria District vs a Toledo District/Chicago Line routing.

Re: Heartland Corridor
No, technically only involves the ability for NS to run double stacks from Columbus to Norfolk, VA over the N&W. North of Columbus was already cleared for stacks. Recently NS also received funding to eventually allow stacks over the Dayton District from Columbus to Cincinnati as well. http://www.nsc...

Heartland Corridor
With the Corridor opening for business on Thursday, what changes are we going to see on the Columbus and Sandusky Districts? So far it seems 233/234 will start to carry stacks south of Rickenbacker and 235/236 should move to a Heartland Corridor routing. Also any word on the NS OCS making an appeara...

Re: South-Central Ohio Stream
Glad you enjoy the feed and thanks for the plug! I am a bit surprised as to how well the attic antenna works as well. Aside from the voice feed I also run an ATCS server for NS from about Valley Crossing to Lunbeck.

NS 234 with UPS intermodal
Saturday a friend saw NS 234 arriving at Rickenbacker and dropping a long cut of solid UPS trailers. Never noticed any UPS traffic on 234 before, so it appears NS has stole some of this off CSX that used to be carried on Q146 maybe? Any thoughts?

Re: Odd sighting in Columbus, possible derailment?
These trains are destined to Santee Cooper's Cross, SC power plant. It's always odd to see coal moving south out of Columbus, but it is now common place with the Santeee Cooper trains as well as the ones that load in the MGA fields for Duke Power that are routed up to Greenwich and down to Columbus ...

Re: IORY ohio power notes
15 mph? Only 10 MPH, so chasing is quite easy. CEFX 6671 was sidelined by the FRA a few weeks ago and I&O borrowed CSXT 2574 for a weekend until CFE 3888 arrived. Rumor has it that 3888 will stay for a while. Here is 3888 on her first trip to Columbus - http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=2...

Very nice! Funny how we are still up to the same things we were 20 years ago at VA Jct.

Re: Atcs for ohio.
Note that the Columbus area also has a few ATCS servers. With everyone online we have the NS Columbus District from Chillicothe to CW Tower, the Sandusky District from CW to Troyton, the Dayton District out to London as well as the CSX Columbus Sub from High Street to HV Jct.
