Re: MMRR to cease operations in 2025?

Is this an opportunity for another operator, like WATCO, to buy and take over? Mr. AARR, the damage is already done. Zeeland is tired of being lied to and broken promises. Its time for MDOT to seek a new operator and get rid of GLC, they had to many chances in the past to straighten up!!! Mr.AARR G...

Re: MMRR to cease operations in 2025?

You guys all appear to be talking about different lines. Muskegon to West Olive is Michigan Shore. Ludington, Manistee, Baldwin etc is Marquette Rail. The actual Mid Michigan RR is the line from Alma to Paines. MMRR itself is going to be merged into the Huron & Eastern, per the latest G&W plans. Th...

Re: MMRR to cease operations in 2025?

GLC has a new GM. It appears that they are getting service levels up again. Will that change anything for HESR? Huron & Eastern would have way more traffic in grain if it wasn’t for ZFS in Ithaca switching to primarily Trucks, HESR had about 10-15 grain trains of 100+ cars of Soybeans for the ZFS c...

Re: MMRR to cease operations in 2025?

How many ADM facilities are in Auburn? and what about the Andersons facility there? And does the Carrollton warehouse ship by rail? I made a mistake. The Andersons (not ADM) in Auburn ships by rail. The ADM bean plant I am told does not at this time. The Andersons also has a small fertilizer dealer...

Re: Loose car coal customers

Saw a single carload of coal in Eastbound Q326 today. It was in a steel hopper, so it was not a power plant load that had been bad ordered and set out (I’ve seen a handful of those lately on Q326). I presume this is coal for a heating plant somewhere. Who still gets coal a carload at a time in Mich...

Re: Huron & Eastern 3868

I actually unexpectedly saw HESR 3868 today, headed west solo, crossing M-52, just south of M-46. Terrible picture, but I barely had time to turn around and park when I saw the headlight approaching from the east as I was traveling south. This would be the MMRR, a couple miles west of Paines. There...

» Fri Jan 24, 2020 5:03 pm » Tue Mar 03, 2020 4:53 pm MMRR made another motor swap today with the 740 in Genesee Yard. 3868 went in early for it's 92 day inspection it seems like and is back on the MMRR, still facing west. Huron & Eastern 3484 & 3485

Huron & Eastern Locomotives #3484 #3485 are out of service reported that 3484 & 3485 might be going to TPW Railroad after they fix them but with the way the railroad changes all the time I have no idea what is what. But 3484 & 3485 are out of service right now.

Re: Bay City , Midland, Saginaw and Flint

The HESR yard was pretty well loaded with cars. Most of the yard tracks at the north end were filled with cars. Tank cars, hoppers and some gons made up the majority of what filled the yard. The engine area had the following locomotives that I could see. Did you see the old GTW transfer caboose (CM...

Re: HESR vs LSRC...Battle for customers and traffic

It’s cheaper to get the Dow cars in Durand than flint because you would be paying Canadian National less to take Dow cars to Durand than paying Canadian National to take the Dow cars to flint and Grain it’s cheaper to do grain with HESR because CN or GLC will take it and go south and the Coal is the...
