Re: HESR 745
745 is the new extra board evening relief crew. Often on duty around 14:30, it's a job essentially used to cut OT on the 702/701. The rocket runs to Durand, 745 brings the train back to Bay City and switches the yard. Plans are to possibly make the 745 a regular assigned job next bid, but nothing is...

Not too unusual. There's usually a steady stream from either direction.Raildudes dad wrote: ↑Mon Jul 19, 2021 1:15 pmThat car came AA/ GLC / MMRR to Bear. An unusual routing. Most come from the east thru Paines.

Re: Mid Michigan Railroad
Quick note to industries. I was going to change this as soon as I figured out, but it won't allow me to edit the pages on the MMRR wiki. Bear Truss only does the lumber in St Louis. Michigan Chloride is now apart of Timac which, as I understand, is also apart of A&E Ag. So, all other cars besides lu...

Re: Mid Michigan Railroad
Padnos acquired Alma Iron and Metal around 10 years ago or so when the scrap yard was still located along the river. AI&M was a steady user of rail service shipping 3-4 cars a week. Interestingly, for CSX/MMRR to access AI&M their spur crossed TSBY in-between Wright Siding and the north connection....

Re: Mid Michigan Railroad
Padnos trucks all of their scrap to GR to be loaded... I apologize for asking a dumb question, but why would they ship it to GR to be loaded to rail? Wouldn't that cost excess fuel and wear and tear on their trucking fleet when they could just ship a few gons by rail to GR to be shipped out with th...

Alma – MI Paving & Materials: inbound asphalt (used to be steady shipper when operated by Terry Materials but now seems sporadic) Alma – Padnos Iron & Metal: outbound scrap metal (used to be steady shipper when operated by Alma Iron & Metal but now they are not using rail) Padnos trucks all of thei...

Re: GLC 383
GLC 383 has been running regular since September 18th, mostly south of Owosso and only went north for the first time recently. This is the former MRL 705. It’s first trip was on an extra north to Ithaca IIRC. I shot it on ONTN, but if they ran an extra earlier in the day, then that very well could'...

Supposed to be taking OSTN back to Owosso, then another crew (I would assume) will be taking a grain train south with the power.

Re: September Shortlines Updates
It is quite odd, had a majority of fly ash gons with a few tanks and 2bays. I bet Q327 will pick them up tomorrow. Perhaps they are considering going back to a nocturnal schedule. This way, these cars will be on Q327 tomorrow. If they come down Monday, they won't go until Tuesday's Q327. Typically,...

Re: Huron & Eastern 3868
This doesn't have to do with the HESR 3868, but rather the Michigan Shore. The MMRR 2170 should be on the move for Muskegon in the next week or two. I would guess once the 2170 is on property, the HESR 2025 will leave.

Re: Huron & Eastern 3868
HESR 3868 has been replaced in Alma with 3037 (CM) effective 8-31-20 Not replaced. HESR 3868 had to go in for it's 92 day, so the 3037 is filling in. It's expected the 3868 comes back for the remainder of time until the 2169 gets painted and sent up here. Motor swap in Genesee Yard with the HESR 80...

Re: The Future?
Per a post on facebook, the three grain elevators on the MMRR have stopped shipping and have gone to trucks because the G&W increased the pricing. So i see a GLC and Lake State operation very soon. That post is very incorrect. I can confirm that the two elevators hasn't just stopped shipping. The c...

Re: Huron & Eastern 3868
Was confirmed yesterday by Bay City mechanical guys that the HESR 3868 is still leaving in due time. New rumor for a replacement on the St. Louis Sub is a G&W painted MMRR 2169, but that part is uncertain at this time.
Currently the MMRR has the HESR 3867.
