Re: CSX North of Monon Q's
If I remember correctly, that stretch of track used to be included in one of the longest stretches of straight track in the country . Seems kind of like overkill to worry about the winter weather. They will be doing it on a smaller scale, and , I am sure that there are locations in Canada that get worse weather, and more vehicles to move.

As far as LSRC in Gaylord-- after the switch that goes to A&L, the old main line that goes into the downtown area, does it still have any customers, or was LSRC correct in wanting that abandoned years back?? Any new industries that might locate there, as I see a few spurs still in place.

Bet you are right about that--- 10 year limit on trailer age. Reminds me of one time ,that I had to deliver to GM Powertrain in Toledo. Checked in with the guard, and he wanted to see the REGISTRATION for the trailer. Told me that the trailer was over 10 years old. I knew nothing about this since th...

Re: Best time in the summer to railfan
I seem to remember the TRAINS magazine saying that there were about 150 trains through Fostoria, in a 24 hour period--- and that was REAL close to correct, as my son kept count, and there were 70 something in the 12 hours we were there, back in early 2000's.

Used to work for them, 2 nights a week while going to college. My dad retired from Warren Truck in 1974, after 39 years . The Chrysler of old was way better and cooler than this Stellantis crap of today. I give them about 5 to 10 years tops, then they will be gone.
