Yes, this is the csx side of the Kelsey Hayes spur into the old plant. Looks like Evans and Home Depot are busy! David, if you look at an aerial map, you’ll see the Kelsey Hayes trackage is actually a big loop, connecting with the CSX south of 275 at a small two track yard where they can organize th...

Re: Shunt enhancement - success?
It has been stated that Amtrak might be interested in trying to operate their trains from the east and Michigan over the South Shore on the journey into Chicagoland so as to avoid the frequent congestion on the NS Water Level Route. The South Shore Line may not agree with this proposal. But there it...

Re: CSX Train Location Updates - May 2024
I’m still confused about why these potash trains take the long way around. 4 crews needed to get it from Chicago to Webberville and that’s if the Plymouth sub crew has the time to run around at Williamson and then spot it in the Webberville stub end yard. Also: The subject Van Den Bosch hoppers, if...

In the pipeline is a B23528 for Webberville. Crew called at Garrett to take train to Walbridge, then will need a crew to Plymouth. I’m still confused about why these potash trains take the long way around. 4 crews needed to get it from Chicago to Webberville and that’s if the Plymouth sub crew has ...

https://hometownnewsnow.com/local-news/744852 Sounds like there are a few growing pains with the new setup, but I appreciate that they are asking for the ridership to contact them with issues and offer suggestions. Starting tomorrow, Amtrak’s new Borealis service will provide a second daily round trip between Chicago and St. Paul via Milwaukee. Alternately known as the “baby builder” or TCMC, it will provide additional schedule options between those cities and additional connections at more convenient times to...

Re: Gradient Chart/Track Profile for CSX Plymouth Sub
“Lansing Subdivision,” essentially the western half of the current Plymouth Sub., was a new designation probably around 2005 that only lasted a few years. The entire territory was the Plymouth Sub before that, and after, just as it is today. I’m not sure what the purpose was. For some period of time...

Re: St. Joe Swing Bridge Work
One of the reasons CSX is putting so much money into the bridge is that they hope to remote it soon. Apparently they have an office in Evansville, IN, that already handles the remote operations of 6 other CSX bridges. The Coast Guard has yet to sign off on the removal of the on-site bridge tender, ...

Pinconning Jct. and Pinconning Terminal are the same location. The day job makes up both night road trains in Bay City yard and takes them, connected, to Pinconning where they are separated. The night crews start and end from Pinconning. There are occasional changes but the above is the normal rout...

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks. I think one of the things we would all appreciate in the end is a short report ...
