Re: West Olive power plant free tours
Dont worry, Wolverine Power might be going into talks with Consumers Energy about the purchase of the JH Campbell unit #3. They have filed a lawsuit against CMS Energy for breach of contract. Wolverine Power had a contract with them until 2040 for 50MW's of firm power. The plant has a price tag of $...

Re: GoGo Squeeze purchases old Cherry Growers building
Yes that's how she got the gig, and GLC paid to have the grass sprayed. She was complaining constantly about how the grass and tall weeds were hampering her little rail bikes. Must be nice to pocket all that money that she's making. I would like to know who's paying for the insurance? you can bet it...

Re: 1st Autoracks for Gaylord
GLC never promoted A2TC in any way shape or form, they are a freight hauler, not passenger trains. If ANYONE thinks A2TC is going to happen, then they don't have ANY railroad knowledge of what it cost to bring track to class 4 or 5 standards. Look how much money MDOT is sinking into passenger projec...

Re: 1st Autoracks for Gaylord
Your right, the only thing this is doing is keeping car haulers in check with rates. Thats why Ford is backing this move, the next thing you know they will be storing lumber on the parking lot and the LP gas dealer will be storing gas loads on the two stub tracks. Also wait till winter rolls around,...

Re: 1st Autoracks for Gaylord
It might go good till it gets wet cold and snowy. just wait till you get a stiff cold wind blowing up there ass when there trying to unload on the snowy ramp. not to mention parking 70 to 80K SUV on a muddy parking lot will go over good to. It will turn out to be a good spot to pile lumber from the ...

Re: MMRR to cease operations in 2025?
Yes, kind of like the auto transload in Gaylord, all that will end up being is a good place to stack lumber from the U.P and storage cars for the de-bunk gas terminal that Krist LP thought they would put the run on Quality Energy in Cadillac on GLC!!!

Re: MMRR to cease operations in 2025?
Mr. AARR, the damage is already done. Zeeland is tired of being lied to and broken promises. Its time for MDOT to seek a new operator and get rid of GLC, they had to many chances in the past to straighten up!!!

Re: MMRR to cease operations in 2025?
Zeeland Farms has been looking into building at track from the Ithaca plant over to the Mid-Michigan line from Alma over to Saginaw. Some of the large farms in between Zeeland and the east west line over to Saginaw have been saying they would be willing to give Zeeland right-a-way if they decide to ...

Re: Hard to believe - Jackson to Detroit busyness
It was known as the Jackson Three River's Air Line. Back in the steam days they had track pans (to scoop water on the fly in the tender) so they didnt have to stop and get water.

Re: New siding-business in Traverse City???
I try to give good and accredited news to people who like railroads, and I get blasted by sub-standard intelligent people, if only some of you morons would just read, but maybe your not smart enough to in-gage in intelligent conversation. Mr. SD80MAC, like someone already mentioned about the siding,...

Re: New siding-business in Traverse City???
I seen the blue prints from MDOT, there going to pay a large portion of the siding and GLC is going to try and take out one of the 90lb switches that is not being used by the Good Will and move it down on the west end of the new siding to make it a run-around track. I dont know what the hell SD-80 i...

Could be a new company going in south of Cheery Growers that makes big pre-stress concrete beams, the bike lady is trying to get MDOT to abandon the line to Grawn but MDOT said no because there might be a couple new businesses moving on the line in the future.

Re: New siding-business in Traverse City???
In bound empty containers (double stack) and down the road plywood and building materials for Box & tops. you can see how stupid MDOT engineers are, GLC ask for a run-a-round so they dont have to ball face cars back to Boardman Yard and you can plainly see its going to be a stub track. Now they have...
