Harassed By Cop For Photographing Trains

:x Today, I was parked along Penry Road (Delaware, Ohio) on a field entry, right behind a car that belonged to a group of hunters. About 20 minutes after arriving, a Delaware County Sheriff deputy came up the road, slammed on his brakes, and put on his lights. He went on to say how I can't be on rai...

Re: T&OC Depot in Johnstown, Ohio

The section between Johnstown, Alexandria, and Granville has been converted into a trail. Along that stretch are the remains and foundation of one of the railroad's water towers. Where are the remains located? I've biked this trail a few times and recall seeing some kind of concrete abutment or som...

My mistake, you are correct.

Re: T&OC Depot in Johnstown, Ohio

I was thinking the Ohio Central still used a small portion south of Heath where it crossed the Panhandle, but I haven't been there in awhile. The portion between Newark in Heath has been left to rot. They used to run excursions on that line, but several years ago, they discontinued that. ...That li...

T&OC Depot in Johnstown, Ohio

Many of you may be familiar with the Toledo and Ohio Central Railroad station in Bucyrus, Ohio, but here's one close to my home. At one point, Johnstown, Ohio was a major stop on the T&OC. This is where one or two pusher, steam locomotives were removed from heavy coal trains coming from the mines ar...

What are the trains that currently take the Scottlawn Sub, to the Mt. Victory Sub, to the Columbus Sub, to the former B&O to head west towards Chicago? Won't they take the new connection?

Re: K637 dead in Fostoria

There was an "issue" with CSX in Toledo. I don't know how that area functions, but I guess that's why there weren't too many eastbounds (compass south) on the former C&O today. There were quite a few westbounds, though!

Three Days' Worth of Railfanning

11/8 My dad and I started out at Powell Road near Lewis Center, Ohio, hoping that Norfolk Southern would run a train, but an ATCS check showed that would not be happening anytime soon. We headed over to the Home Road overpass on CSX's Columbus Subdivision, but, just as before, we had no success. We...

A Trip to Marion, Ohio

Hello, On Saturday, Geoff, Shawn, and I ended up in Marion. Before we made it to the station we stopped to catch a few trains around the Marion and Delaware County Border. The first train we saw was CSX K002 in Meredith with a single HLCX SD40-2 leading… http://www.flickr.com/photos/47491339@N04/629...

Many people have began shipping crack via MEXP's 6 million track train yard in the Mexican State of Crackton. This state is the largest mexican settlement outside of Mexico and is five times the size of Texas. Yet, it is still able to fit inside of Ohio. All items shipped by MEXP are hand delivered ...

Cool Stuff in Delaware, Ohio

Hello, Tonight, I set out with my friend Patrick to see what trains were running at Milepost 19.8 on the Sandusky District. On the way there, I texted Geoff and he alerted me that the closest train was at Troyton. We rushed to the pull-off, but had plenty of time to spare. The train was 194 and as i...
