This would be very handy when shooting trains with my flashes where the triggers' sync speed is only 1/200 second.

Most of this story is more aviation-related, so if you don’t want to read about gliders and airplanes, skip to the photos down below. _________________________________________________ On July 7th, my grandpa and I decided to go for a glider flight in one of the Central Ohio Soaring Associatio...

I'm Surprised...
...That more people don't get killed here! :x It always seems like there's a lot of people going around gates and running in front of trains in Marion, Ohio. I've noticed it more there than anywhere else I've been to. Here are some close-ish-call photos: http://www.flickr.com/photos/47491339@N04/62...

Re: Punks Starting a Fire on Railroad Property
Wont those future pyro's be a little surprised when they get a visit from the local police  Nice job, B-Town :D Yes! The cop actually got on his car's computer and found the person on Facebook. We matched his profile picture to the one I took and we knew it was him! :D I think this was the def...

Punks Starting a Fire on Railroad Property
I was waiting for a train at Powell Road near Lewis Center, Ohio when these two punk teenagers walked up, put a bunch of scrap on the NS tracks, and then started a fire next to the CSX track. I got a photo of them before I called 9-1-1. A cop soon showed up and he knew even on the back of my camera ...

Re: Near Death on CSX
I guess my questions are: 1. Is that a malfunctioning signal and no trains are in the area? 2. Due to angle, lens, etc. is it perhaps not as close a call as it looks? There was a train coming... ...And even though the school denies it, the gate almost hit the bus. It looks like, then, that the bus ...

Re: We Ended Up in West Virginia and Kentucky...
They have a lot of locomotives for such a small railroad. They were going to begin switching in 30 minutes, but we needed to start heading back towards Columbus.AARR wrote:I will have to look up KRT, looks like an interesting little railroad.

We Ended Up in West Virginia and Kentucky...
On Saturday, October 15th, a couple friends and I headed south to photograph trains around the Ohio River. We ended up as far as Kenova, West Virginia and Ashland, Kentucky. The day started off in Circleville, Ohio where we caught Norfolk Southern train 194 with four different locomotives leading th...

Chasing Trains in Southern Ohio - 10/9/11
Geoff and I began yesterday's railfanning journey sitting on the south end of Watkins Yard at Valley Crossing. We stuck around there for a while, but soon heard a CSX train call off "east" on the Northern Subdivision. The chase began! We started heading south and by the time we reached Rohr Road, we...

Re: Fostoria, North Baltimore, and Deshler from 1400 feet.
The Fostoria mayor told me they were going to start having airplane rides a few years back. It all started when I gave them the photos I took when I flew over the town.
