Re: New To Night Photography

My favorite time to take pictures is at night, so I thought I should say something! :D Something to watch out for when doing long exposures is different color light sources. In Marion, there are a lot of different colored spot lights around the depot. This messed up my 20 minute exposure because the...

Re: I have no idea what to do?!?!

Thanks! I understand what you guys mean! When I was taking the pictures, they didn't really seem to be working. It was just something different to try on a cloudy day. I got the lens to shoot band photos and I think it will better fit that subject! Thanks for all the help! I really enjoy getting fee...

I have no idea what to do?!?!

Hello! :? I was testing my fisheye lens for the first time tonight! I took a timed exposure of NS 304 and it is extremely distorted! I'm new to this kind of photography and I have no idea how I should edit this (or if I should even try). The photo is level, but it definitely doesn't look like it (an...

How should I level this?

Hello,
This photo look level to me, but I might not be seeing it. It could be an illusion caused by the diagonal yellow paint of the left side of the nose.

Re: Cooke Rd. Lunch Break - 11/30/10

I was in Durand once for about four hours and all I saw was a local! Luckily, there was a guy there that wanted to talk to me and I got free train magazines, so it wasn't a total loss! :|

Re: Cooke Rd. Lunch Break - 11/30/10

Cooke Road is busy sometimes! It's technically closer than Marion for me, but when you add in traffic issues it's about the same. I go to school near Cooke Road, so I'm there a lot!

Re: C&O Signal Updates

According to Joe Slanser (Marion's train god), the signals protecting AC Cabin are coming down too. He said that CSX wants to run double stacks through there!

Good Morning in Marion

Hello! I was in Marion today to work on gliders out at the airport and I was able to hang out at the depot for a while! In the first five minutes I was there, two NS mixed freights met at the diamond. I know the westbound was 170. I then fell asleep in the station and woke up to "CSX engine 388, cle...

Re: Number 50!

Thanks, Aaron! That train had nine locomotives, the train before that had six, and the one after it had five! :!: Most of them were being towed.

Number 50!

Hello!
I just thought I'd "toot my own horn" by saying that I just got my 50th photo accepted on Railpictures.net! I started uploading in February and my first one was accepted in march.

Re: A Lot of Bad Cropping

Thanks for the suggestions, but I think I'll save these for my personal enjoyment! I might be going on a glider ride on Saturday (if the weather permits), so maybe I'll do better then. If anybody will be in Marion, just look up, I might be up there!

A Lot of Bad Cropping

This is my first time posting on here, but I thought I'd give it try! I uploaded three photos to RP tonight and each one got bad cropping! Any thoughts on what I should do?
