On my way home tonight I drove by the JAIL building in Mason as I always do. I spotted 1 piece of MOW equipment on the tracks. This is the first time I have seen MOW equipment in Mason.

1751 returning to Mason tonight.

This morning on my way to work 1751 was on the main line along with 1758 with a number of coil cars between them. No sign of 1760.

Well I was wrong about 1751 leaving Mason last night. The door facing south was open this morning and 1751 was inside with the passenger car. It was to dark so I could not see if the CV caboose was still there. 1758 and 1760 are siting on the main line just returning from dropping off a few box cars...

Just a guess on my part but it looks like 1751 might be departing Mason. They pulled the engine out of the barn this afternoon. 1760 is still on the siding by the JAIL building as of this morning It's been there for a while. I saw 1751 switching cars just north of the barn this morning and I assume 1758 was further north towards the Howell Rd crossing. The CV caboose has been sitting outside the building all week.

I doubt the JAIL will run on the weekend. The engines are usually tied down in Mason on a Saturday.

For the past few months JAIL has worked almost every Saturday with an occasional Sunday but not to often. I have noticed over the same time frame on Monday and Tuesdays there was no activity.

Good morning all. I just drove by JAIL in Mason this morning as I always do on my way to work. I was surprised to see all 3 engines ( 1751, 1758,& 1760) idling on the main line. This the first time I have seen this.

This morning 1758 was on the siding. 1760 and 1751 were powered up on the mainline looked to be heading to Lansing this morning. This is the first time I have seen all 3 engines in Mason.

I work about a half mile from the tracks in Mason. They have been very active today. I have heard them go north and south out of Mason at least five times. Just wish I could see what was going on. Any updates on the GP-9's in Jackson?

1751 was idling on the mainline this morning at 0730

On my way home tonight I noticed JAIL has the CV caboose outside behind the Antiques building in Mason on the siding.

The CV Caboose inside appears to be restored, at least from the outside. There are curtains over the widows so I could not see inside.

The last time I saw inside the building which was a few weeks ago there was still a dirt floor. The CV Caboose is still inside. I would guess it's been there 3 or 4 months.. There was a heating company there a few weeks ago for a few days. I would asume installing a furnace because of the two exhaus...
