Well its sounding a bit easier everyday glad to hear there are some decoders that don't require soldering. I was told the other way around. Thanks for the info. I will check out the websites mentioned.

Have not actually jumped to DCC yet but will probably get the Prodigy setup. The engines that will be converted are Athearn I've been told you need to isolate the motor before installing the decoder which I thought you had to solder in???

DC to DCC conversion

Is there any hobby shops in the Wayne county area that at a reasonable price will convert DC engines over to DCC? For those of us not comfortable with their soddering knowledge....

Excellent video. Love the one with the train vs car as long as it ain't the real thing. I have been trying to build a layout and have had nothing but problems. You got any layout diagrams or is it all fictional?

What are some good places to get pictures of the trains? I have some ideas for locations around Gulliver when I come up there in the summer but do you have any favorite or recommended sites?

Since gas has come down a bit I might give it a try again this month if the weather is nice not sure about this weekend maybe next week. They are predicting snow for the weekend. :cry:

Does the L543 stay in town the whole day or does it travel up to Manistique? What type of engine do they use? Any idea if they mind train watchers in the woodyard?

Also the Port Inland Railway does it get down into the Gulliver area regularly? In the summer. Also what engines are they running?

How are the below locations? Delray Memorial Park Salina Elementary School on the weekends? Hemlock Park Riverside Park Google map looks really promising on this one near the river and the Windsor skyline whats this location like for train viewing looks like a big railyard to the northeast(?)...
