Fuller's Flyover in Guilderland, NY
At on time I found a pretty detailed explanation for the reson for the Fuller's Flyover in Guilderland, NY on CSX Selkirk subdivision. I was wonder if anyone had any information as to why this was done. I know that it goes back to the days of the 4 track main and how the freight traffic was split fr...

Re: CSXT Q620/Q621
Thanks for the info. The departure time would be the reason I have not seen it lately. Typically it would come through Amsterdam, NY in the mornings. Sounds like it comes through much later now.

I was just wondering as I have not seen it in awhile, is the Q620 still being operated between Massena and Selkirk, NY on a daily basis?

Re: Detours Coming Due To Hurricane Damage?
No idea if there are detours in place. I do know that there is a section track just east of QC 173 on the Selkirk Sub that has washout next to NYS Barge Canal Lock 10 in Cranesville, NY. Also the Amsterdam station and adjacent track was inundated due to the flooding Mohawk River. It is possible that...

CSX C40-8 "Stealth"
Having recently caught CSX 7587 on film, I was just wondering how many of these units were still left in the "Stealth" paint schemes.

Re: K408-15
Thanks for the info. I never actually saw the train that night just heard it on the scanner. Since then i have seen the K400 which is an ethanol train. So my guess is your probably right on the K408. Usually the ethanol trains that are coming through here are in the K6XX series and it was not until ...

Re: Ferromex on ethanol train in NY
Yep that would be the one. Unfortunately i did not have my camera with me that day. The train was tied down on the siding east of Amsterdam. At that time only the Ferromex locomotive was there. Not sure what happened with the BNSF leader. Nice shot though.

CSX engine fire east of Amsterdam, NY
It appears that the third unit on the Q162 had a fire this evening just west of CP 169. Not sure what unit it was as it was dark out and the radio was a bit scratchy. It hoever appered to be a C40-8w when i went past the scene. A moderate smoke condition was obsereved around the radiator.
