Re: Amway - New Business
What does Amway do anyways? I remember when they used to sponsor the late Scott Brayton's Indycar in the early 90's and was always curious as to what it was and what they did.

Re: CSX says no!
Everyone has missed the obvious solution. If the railroads don't want tresspassers they should be required to surround their property with a six-foot steel cyclone fence. After all, it is stupid to leave large tracts of very dangerous property completely open to whoever happens to pass. Small spora...

Re: Do people still go to Elkhart?
Is Norfolk Southern still the main railroad that goes thru Elkhart? Is that the same line that goes thru Fostoria? Does anyone know the scanner frequency number if it is still Norfolk Southern. I think I'm gonna go to Elkhart Sept 8-10. While I'm at it can anyone recommend me an inexpensive hotel t...

Re: Do people still go to Elkhart?
Having been at Elkhart early last month, the ex CR Chicago Line is busy as ever! There were 54 plus moves in 14 hours while we were there in daylight hours(6:30am to 8:30pm). I know of a couple friends who spent the day there a week or so later over at the depot and they were treated to about 30 or ...

Re: Conrail Question
Part of the reason why is that NS/CSX still own the Conrail Shared Assetts operations, they just operate under Conrail's name on paper is all. Shared Assets gets its power from CSX and NS, and payroll comes from NS/CSX as well IIRC. They just couldn't untangle the lines in Detroit without making a g...

Re: Q195: New Train
Saturday night while at the CRHS Marion RBQ, I witnessed a single stack intermodal train come straight south on the C&O line(this was after 11pm), anyone know what train that was? Lead engine was CSXT 7701 IIRC.

Re: Q195: New Train
Sounds like one of those trains that will use the soon to be built connection at Galatea in the future. I presume right now it goes to Fostoria, south down the C&O to Marion, then west on the Big Four to Ridgeway before turning south to Columubus.

Re: Hot Box Detectors - Where Are They?
Speaking of which, do trains have to be going above a certain speed for them to operate correctly? I was at Vermilion once and the NS detector there went, "Norfolk Southern. Milepost 2 2 0 . 9. Track 2. No Defects. Train too slow." I've never personally heard that before, but I believe I was once t...

Re: A "Balls Out" Weekend With Cody and Rich
I'm the one who posted the heads up about that 34T with the SOO SD60M, glad you guys were able to get a nice shot of it off the SDI bridge. Seeing that train made my day yesterday because I was able to cross another one off my list of things I've always wanted to photograph.
