Re: Portsmouth, Ohio area

The Limeville-Sciotoville bridge is impressive. You really have to see it in person to get a feel for just how massive it is. I grew up in Russell and saw that bridge at least 2 or 3 times a month for 18 years, then ran trains over it for another 10 years and I'm still in awe of it when I see it af...

I am going to order it as soon as I get my tax returns back so about a week or two. If it works half as good as they say it does I will be happy!

Re: Depressing Day With the Railroad Police

As many others have said, don't beat yourself up over this! Think of it as a learning experience. Everybody makes mistakes once in a while, whether it be intenionally or not. I've had my fair share of encounters with cops. My worst experience was with an IMPD female cop. All the others were very ni...

Personally I do not go to Fostoria after dark.

Arcadia is west of Fostoria. Attica Junction is north of Marion.
Brain fart. I meant Attica. Thank you for noticing!

Re: Is it safe?

I am very interested in railfanning in Marion, and was wondering if it is a relatively safe city, or if it's a bit like Fostoria? My sister and I go to Marion alot over night in the summer and the only interaction with police was them asking if we saw a guy running from them. Other then that it is ...

Re: Greenwich

Attica is about 20 miles West and is where the CSX Willard Sub crosses the NS Sandusky District, there is the yard in Willard, only the ends of which are viewable. Greenwich is more then enough though IMO, a really great place. I know about Attica. My grandma used to live in New Regiel so I am semi...

Re: Greenwich

Eating part is tough. There is a small sandwich shop and an East of Chicago in Greenwich. Otherwise, you'd have to go to Willard (which has a lot more) or New London which has a McDonald's. Willard is about 12 miles west. Ok. I think I am wakin about around 4:30 AM to head up. Any other good places...

Still should do fine. Ya, It is mainly called get away from the parents! If I saw 15 I would be happy! Any good place...

Re: Greenwich

As Brent said, pull off Kniffen St. in the stone parking lot to the EAST of the diamond. CSX generally doesn't care if you stand anywhere and watch the trains. Anyways, what I wanted to add was that you won't be disappointed in the traffic. I'd say 4 per hour average in 24 hours. Let us know when y...
