Re: Marquette Rail

So you want my line from Delray to the beginning of Lang? Let's start with where exactly is Delray?  I want the entirety of the old PM from Plymouth via Carleton to the MI/OH border. https://maps.google.com/maps/place?ftid=0x883b325b23d576e5:0x6433bea2f265e288&q=Delray,+Detroit,+MI+4820...

Re: Railworks 3: Train Simulator 2012 sale

Railworks just announced they're making a Train Simulator 2013. I really see no point, as there's only 3 new routes (1 of which is American). There's several new control and menu options however, including Xbox 360 controller compatibility. If you have TS 2012, you'll get an update that includes all...

Re: DR&EC

Work on the Detroit Commuter Station began Monday. The DR&EC is working closely with the AA on building the tracks and stations. Crews began tearing up Bush street for street running Monday. So far the crews are making great time.

Re: AA

Sure can. GP38-2 #116 is on it's way to cover the rear of the train. We've got 20 maintenance workers on their way, but more can be sent out if needed. 4 of our 6 Hi-Railers will be at the scene on Monday. I can understand why they want it done quick... There's enough construction around Detroit as ...

Sounds all good to me. If there's anything else we can provide to help in the building process, let us know.

Re: Paper Railroads Group Information Thread

I'm pretty sure CN still owns the tracks from Detroit-Toledo. The DR&EC would be willing to help fund for the station, assuming we also get to use it when our commuter system starts up. Ok I'll contact CN and work with you for the station as long as I get the game day trains Yep, you still get the ...

I don't think Zack really cares

Anyway, only 8 of the 11 people in this group have voted... So it's in their hands now, assuming they vote before the end. Although if they don't vote, it looks like things will stay as they are.

The bridge goes across the Huron River in Flat Rock. Go to google maps and type in this address to get to your location: W Huron River Dr Flat Rock‎ Michigan‎ 48134 United States The diner is now Kate's Kitchen (not sure if it was something different 25 yrs ago). I'm not sure about traffic, but like...

Re: DR&EC

Second test run went just as smooth as yesterday's. Personnel were very pleased with the double level cars, just as they were with the single level cars. It is also safe to say we will order many of these cars. These cars will be used on the heavily populated routes, while the single level's will be...

Re: DR&EC

Today's test run went very smoothly and just as planned. The management personnel were extremely pleased with the single level cars. They ran smoothly and quietly. It is safe to say we will be ordering many of these cars.

Tomorrow's test run will determine how many double level cars we buy.

Re: DR&EC

The commuter test run planned for yesterday was delayed until today due to several of the management personnel not making it into Metro airport on time. The train left Detroit today at about 2:00 p.m. It is now passing Wayne and should arrive back to Detroit soon. Tomorrow's train (double level cars...

They'll be stored at the Livonia yard. This is where passenger trains not in use will be stored/staged once the system begins :)

Great news: Nippon Sharyo has found extra, already-built cars lying around their shop. They are all the cars we need (3 single level, 3 double level), which will allow us to begin testing much earlier. The cars are already being delivered from their Rochelle, IL shop. As of now, testing will be done...

All of the locomotives purchased from NJT have arrived at the Brownstown shops. All 12 U34CH's purchased will be used for frieght service, but can substitute for a commuter train. All of the GP40PH-2B's will be used strictly for commuter service. The DR&EC is also working with Nippon Sharyo USA to p...

Re: DR&EC

The arrival of the locomotives purchased from NJT has been delayed for quite some time. The extreme weather in the area the past few days has been wreaking havoc on the railroads. Fallen trees and other obstructions have prevented the units from being moved to the DR&EC. The new estimated arrival da...
