Well I have to admit I was wrong. Yes the train went into emergency right near where the fire started by the rest area on the east side of 75 and spread to the west side and all the way to town.
SO I'll admit I WAS WRONG sorry about that

Boys the tracks don't even run by the fire. I know for sure by looking at a map. The fire started in a sub division by people burning trash and yard waste

Why would they sell it for $20,000 when scrap value is $40,000 and they don't have to worry about moving it someplace else just cut it up and take the money to the bank to pay bills

According to the Fort Wayne Railfan site the line from Cecil to Defiance is out of service. From Cecil to Woodburn is in use which is where LaFarge is and the Elevator. As for Liberty Center I wasn't sure if this was still used or not

I lived there from 1987 thru 1995 and believe me there is nothing west of Defiance until you get to Antwerp which goes to the Woodburn exchange. Today (around 4 pm) in Essexville SBS was using BNSF 9456 sd70mac for it's power on the local picked up hoppers and lots of scrap gons loaded and the cement hoppers (2 bays) then headed out of town

LRSC has a string of box cars-green and blue ones in Roscommon went by there today
