ABS Signal System
I'll ask this here - maybe I'll get a response, unlike on Facebook. I was wondering if anyone here had any experience using the products from Integrated Signal Systems for adding a signalling system to their layout. I'm modelling a low-traffic secondary line (about 6 trains in 24 hours) based off th...

Since I always forget I have this thread and never post anything here, I'll put a link to the Facebook page below, I normally post an update there every couple weeks when I'm home from college so it's worth watching. https://www.facebook.com/Florida-East-Coast-Railway-Panhandle-Subdivision-904306619...

Nikon 16-85 VR
So I'm slowly working on replacing my Nikon kit Lenses with some better glass. I recently bought the Nikon 35 F1.8G, and I absolutely love it, but I'm also looking at getting some more zooms in my future. Primarily, I'm looking at the Nikon 16-85 VR to replace my 18-55 VR. Does anyone use this lens,...

Lighting Up NS 334 with a Incredibly Colorful Consist
NS 334 rolls through the 25 MPH speed restriction at Seney, GA on 4/28/2015 at 2025 hours with a very colorful Fakebonnet-BNSF-CSX-UP consist leading the way. This is definitely one of my best catches of 2015 so far, as well as my favorite out of all my night shots. I decided not to be lazy and used...

Re: "What if's"
I operate my railroad on the premise that NS bought the CSX P&A sub in 1989 during the middle of CSX's abandonment spree, but like CSX, realized there was little traffic over the line and leased it to FEC.Now FEC has built up a good bit of local business and has 2 through trains every day each way a...

Me waiting on the Southern Pacific heritage unit last October. I'm closest to the camera in the red shirt. I've gotten a haircut since then, I probably need to find something to get new pictures of myself with, my last Facebook profile picture is from last summer at Spencer. https://scontent-b-atl.x...

Re: The South Georgia Central Railroad
Well done. A very interesting line. I realize this is paper railroads, but the nit-picker in me would like to point out the STB decides abandonments, not the FRA. Thanks, I updated it. X127 started work at 0300 hours this morning to build the train for W120. It had 8513 leading FURX 2940, 5904, and...

The South Georgia Central Railroad
The South Georgia Central Railroad The South Georgia Central Railroad (SGCR) was founded in 1988 to operate the former Georgia and Florida rail line between Vidalia, GA and Valdosta, GA. Initally, the railroad operated a fleet of 3 RS-3s and a SD18 purchased from DMIR in wrecked condition. The SD18 ...

Re: NS 724 & 725?
Most of the time Wansley is getting coal from Southern Illinois on train 600 now, but when 724 runs, it normally comes from West Virginia. I'm not 100% certain, but I think I have heard that it comes from Williamson, WV in the past.

It's been a while since I posted here, but today I've been working on scenery just east of downtown Cottondale. https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8649/15566199834_ee63bec661_c.jpg FEC 714 Train 119 East Cottondale by lego-studios34 , on Flickr The backdrop is just temporary, needed something to make it...

Re: Ho Scale NS 6920 FINISHED!
The clear coat is Model Master Gloss, and it's just the lighting, really harsh light from my flash because I was trying to show how much better the frame looks. There is a little bit of unevenness in the finish on the cab though, I had an incident with my Testors Glue but was able to get almost all ...

Re: Ho Scale NS 6920 FINISHED!
Finally was able to (almost) fix the bent frame on my model of NS 6920 tonight. Turns out that the DCC decoder was getting in the way of the shell sitting all the way down, so I took it out and I'm going to get a N-Scale decoder and put it in the cab so there will be room. Now the bend is down to le...

Re: Ho Scale NS 6920 WIP
No frame clips were there in the first place, the coupler boxes hold it on. I may try that about filing down the ends of the frame, I knew it seemed a little tight on there.

Re: Ho Scale NS 6920 WIP
Not exactly sure, when I push down right over where it is bent it sits down fine. I think I may have weakened it a little when I cut it for the cab to fit.

Caught 8100 leading NS 251 today. That makes 14 leading for me.

Best place in the southeast is either Austell, GA or McQuade Street in Jacksonville, FL. Lots of trains and variety at either place, just be careful at the latter and bring a friend, it's a really bad neighborhood.

I like Chick-Fil-A a lot, but the Burger King in Austell, GA is great since it is just across the street from the train tracks. ![Wink ;-)](./images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)
