I will be making a trip to south Georgia to catch these before they are repainted then. I've never had good luck catching ICE/DME power. Maybe they'd still have a few U-boats also.

This is where shooting in RAW can really help. We're not in the film era anymore and WB, color casts, etc. are much easily fixed in RAW vs. in JPG or even in camera.

I do shoot RAW now, so that sounds good.

My friend shoots in well lit areas with a 35mm f1.8 lens and gets good results. I do intend to get some flashes so I can use other lenses though.

You won't notice much of a difference between the D3100 and the D3200. You'd be better off with the cheaper body and a second (or third) lens like the 55-200 and 35 . Up to 17 now. Got the Southern last weekend in Alabama, and while it's not included in my count, I got the Honoring Our Veterans 6920 Friday.

The Southern locomotives had dual control stands. So although the long end was designated as the front, they could easily run both directions. I've heard (unconfirmed) this was to save money on putting wyes or turntables at terminals.

FEC is not getting the demos now. SD70s will stay until the C4s come in August.
