Re: Huron N Eastern Railroad Vans at crossings.
Yeah that males total sense. I guess I always thought they returned the train to the main yard for some reason, instead of having the conductor come pick them up in a seperate vehicle. I have seen it done where the conductor just rides on the train with the engineer most of the time. Thats why I was...

Are they just Flagmen, or do they give the crew a ride back when they tie an engine down somehere? I just met one when I was chasin a trin to ...

Re: Rail Mileage Bad Axe to Croswell.
I tried to count it aprox using google earth, and I am coming up with rite about 40 miles. So i figure it would take them rite about 1 hour and 40 minutes to get there or so on a non stop run. darn thats alot shorter than i thought.

Re: Bad Axe Change Schedule Again?
I found out from one of the train engineers, that operates out of Bad Axe on the Saginaw Line at night, that they have been starting out at the Wallace Stone Quarry Near Bay Port, and heading to Saginaw instead of leaving from Bad Axe a 8 like they usualy do. There was also an Engine tied up in Ruth...

Re: PM Port Austin/Grindstone question
I believe there was a circular turn around type track near where that mill is today in Grind Stone. And I think that road that goes along the shore is part of the old ROW. I have looked in the area south of Wallace Rd. and There is an old pier that goes out into the water there, and north and south ...

Bay Port Wallace Stone Quarry
Does anyone know how often, and when the Wallace Stone Quarry out near Bay Port is serviced? I saw an engine there stored overnight on the siding last night. At around 11 P.M. Lots of hoppers were there on the sideing as well. I know they are out there today all day loading stone. I am wondering how...

Re: Bad Axe Change Schedule Again?
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention I went into the Wallace Stone Quarry drive, and there was an engine there just sitting dark and not running. Kinda surprised to see it sitting there in the dark on the siding.

Bad Axe Change Schedule Again?
Well tonite I headed over to Bad Axe, and arrived there at 7:35. I went straight to the yard, and it was obvious immediately that the Main switch track was open to get onto the Wye to head West. I then headed over to mortimer lumber expecting to possibly see a train heading down the line to elkton, ...

Re: Bad Axe too Sebawaing Run 5/29/12
Another movement tonite on the Bad Axe Saginaw Line. I went to Bad Axe at 8 P.M. tonite, and they were switching cars across M-142, and then they turned out on the wye and headed to Elkton at around 9 P.M. this time. I wasn't gonna chase them this time but being the train/railnut that I am, I couldn...

Re: Bad Axe too Sebawaing Run 5/29/12
MKT, They were using engine #3865 for the trip too Sebwaing. I am wondering where all Huron n Eastern's blue, white and yellow engines went too. Unless they just repainted them in the red, blue and grey scheme they are using now?
