Re: CSX Train Location Updates: 5/13/12
W047 was westbound at Hudsonville at 1858. CSX 8024 & 8610 for power. Train is going to Sawyer and being tied down. Crew will be cabbed home. I wonder if there's a curfew the next 2 days? For some reason, according to the Amtrak schedule on their site, P371 is running an hour early on Mon and Tues ...

Re: Ludington Windmill Trains
The empty flats that had the mast pieces went west on 327 a few nights ago. I didn't count them, but it looked like enough that it was probably all of them (from the first train).

Re: Famous Santa Fe sign may be replaced
It is much like when CSX Transportation started. That was the WHOLE company. Inside that company you had CSXT Railroad, you had CSXI (Intermodal), you had Sea Land, you had the Greenbrier, ect. It just so happens that CSX Transportation was headquartered in Va. and CSXT Railroad was headquartered i...

Re: New CSX Logo Paint Name
I wonder which logo they have. Hopefully some pics will surface soon ;) I've often wondered why they didn't use the 3000's instead of cramming new units in with other groups. They've mostly been empty since the mid 90's, which only a handful of BQ/B23-7's and U23B's in the 3000-3324 range left by th...

Re: Amtrak Woverine power/ coaches
Yeah, those are the right names. And you also had the International, which shared equipment with VIA. Also, the Lake Cities used to continue south to Toledo. Don't remember when they discontinued that though. As to equipment, I can't tell you what was on in the 80's, but in the 90's, I remember it w...

Re: Ludington Windmill Trains
Nope, they are not DPU qualified. The headend power was to be cut off at Barr, and the DPU engine would be the leader to go east. WOW! Something isn't right...that makes SENSE! I suppose GR guys aren't qualified Dolton to Cal Park on the Harbor, so that's the next smartest thing to do. Nice to see ...

10:05 EDT K242-28 GOING INTO ODD SIDE AT LAMAR. SOUNDS LIKE CAR DEPT. NEEDS TO DO AN INSPECTION AND YM SAID HE HAS NO IDEA HOW LONG TRAIN MAY SIT. SOUNDS LIKE IT IS NOT GOING NORTH TODAY. Yeah, in the windmill thread, Dok said they needed to do a 1000 mile inspection on the train when it got to GR.

Next time I'm up that way, I'll try and see if I can find those tanks. I'd imagine if they're storing them, they'll be just outside town, past Hansen Cold Storage. That's where they had all the coal hoppers stored a couple years ago.

It's a VERY large thread, but there's an Indiana Sub (which Loogootee and Mitchell are located on) discussion over at the Indiana Bull Session forum:

I'm pretty sure a real railroad wouldn't install a new swingbridge. They'd put in either a bascule or vertical lift.

I don't know their previous numbers, but there's at least 2 50' ex-D&M boxcars on Marquette Rail. Numbers are MQT 1090 and 1091. 1091 has one side completely covered in graffiti.

Awesome kitbash! I've wanted to do a couple of these myself. I'd like to do one of the Family Lines System ones though, so they just say "FAMILY" with the Family Lines logo next to it (the section removed had the "LINES SYSTEM" lettering): http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/pictures%5C62064%5C20101113...

Jeff, from which crossing did you take that picture? 128th Ave. Actually, it's 126th Ave. Drove by there this morning after getting a shot of 371 passing the new signal in New Richmond. :) Oops, sorry about that. When I replied, I was looking at the Michigan Gazetteer and trying to remember whether...
