Re: Twenty Five years of Train Videos
Way to go buddy! I know how long you have been working on these and have seen a lot of the filming and footage firsthand. This is most excellent that you are sharing it all with the world.

Norm, that's another favorite of mine. It's from when they originally built that line which is the first across Michigan. Super history right there.

Coolest Railroad Bridge in Michigan?
Just curious as to what anyone considers the most worthwhile railroad bridge in the state, active or inactive. I'm a big fan of the one in Newaygo and Grand Ledge is cool too for example.

Re: Mid-Michigan Railroad Customer Brochure
Very cool! Thanks for sharing.
Amazing how the GRE has shrunk over the years.
My pleasure. Makes me sad though. Cool railroad and interesting lines. I really miss Greenville having rail service.

Mid-Michigan Railroad Customer Brochure
Back in 1995/96 I interviewed some of the office staff at MMRR/GRE for a video project I was doing at LCC. I was given one of their very nice customer brochures that tell all about what the railroad had to offer. For anyone interested in a neat slice of recent Michigan railroad history here are the...

Ashley, MI Depot
Does anyone know what happened to the station in Ashley? I assume torn down at some point although I have heard a rumor that it was moved somewhere else.

Railfan famous?
Found this mural at Sexton High School today in Lansing, MI. Trains caught my eye and then the signature surprised the heck out of me! Jerry Pinkepank (Morning Sun books, etc.) Painted in 1960. Thought this was cool and that I should share. http://railroadfan.com/gallery/albums/userpics/10298/IMG_20...

Its ironic that you would say holier than though because his signature says he has as much authority as the pope. Maybe he really is holier than though :P  (I'm just kidding with you Pete...don't get mad and leave  Don't worry, I don't need to leave. I don't even care about the kids cros...

Re: Darwin Award of the Day
This is why I rarely post here. Of course I know what a Darwin award is (and you don't have to die to get a nomination) and YES its with a telephoto but you can tell its still a little over a locomotive length away from the crossing. Nitpicky know-it-alls (who don't) and rude to boot.

Darwin Award of the Day
I know how much you guys love pics of pedestrians tempting fate on the tracks, so here is a new one for ya. CMU in Mt. Pleasant today and they were on the tracks in force. This guy saw the train and made a dash for it. Then a girl followed him, the train even closer. So much fun... http://railroadfa...
