Re: CSX (MI) Train Location Updates: 5/3/11
It's the beginning of the end. Muskegon and the Northman sold off. CP is leaving and Michigan as a whole, sliding faster into the toilet.

Re: New Marquette Rail engines
Well if that's the case Wooo Wooo. Maybe the Great Doktor should be placed in the office and a certain roller goalie should come out and play on the high iron. And yes. Paint those darn engines. Our fleet looks like a rolling junk yard!

Re: New Marquette Rail engines
We are caught between a rock and a hard place. We want direct interchange with GDLK. CSX won't let us. Grand Elk is slow to deliver because the don't have the traffic to warrant running everyday to GR. CSX,once again has cut our other life line to the GLC, but ripping up the Baldwin to Clare line. I...

Re: CSX Porter to Holland
I know there was the big BIDS facility at the end of Judd st. That place was really hoping back in the early 90's. They also used to unload steel back in the old steam shop. Don't know if that is still kicking since I left for Marquette in 05. For a short time after the rain of terror of a former NS...

Re: CSX Porter to Holland
Squirt either closed up or something, but no more cars for them. I can remember working the Holland local off the extra board back in 96. Lots of big customers. It was a fun but busy day. Heinz, Lifesaver, Padnos, Squirt and a few others that time has erased.

Re: CSX Porter to Holland
CSX makes money on the line but is it enough to sustain it. Don't forget back in 05, they shocked everyone when the Northman and Muskegon went up for lease. Both of those lines were profitable. Now CP is bout a distant memory, 326 and 327 are gone. Lansing is all done, Holland traffic went from cash...

Bad Billy. He should have known that in most cases, Woman and railroads don't mix. Throw in politics and your screwed. On the up side. He has still done alot for the state. He and his company have created thousands of jobs, both with the railroad and with on line customers. I don't see to many peopl...

Doc. Cant give em hell anymore. That was the old days. Now it's safety, fuel conservation and 100% rule compliance. How anything get's done down there is beyond me. Glad the Marquette still operates with the customer in mined. Notch 8 with sand!

Re: Athearn v MTH
I feel your pain AARR. I to used to add weight to the many sd40's I had. I see no reason to add weight to the new Athearns. They have made them a bit heavier, and best of all, they run sooooooo much smoother than the old stuff. I love the bright headlights and the detail on them. The plug-n-play dec...

Re: Athearn v MTH
I picked up a few MTH Little Joes for the layout last year. The details are ok, but they're performance sucks. One will run fine, they other will derail on straight level track. Pulling power blows. As with the Mth dcc, you cant change the unit numbers. You cant consist it with other units. I would ...

Re: Q125/Q126 via GRP
Well, here we go again. Remember the Iron Highway, remember the CP train's. The GR crew's will go out of they're way to get thing's over the road and try to keep the traffic here and Jacksonville will do they're best to screw it up. Anybody see a pattern here?
