Re: Railroads and Road Construction

My favorite was coming around a corner to see a 150ton capacity crane outrigger set up IN THE GAUGE! Their excuse.... They had protection the day before to do the lift but it got cancelled due to weather so they simply figured they had protection the next day.

Imagine that... Another failed Railmark venture. As much as I am for people following their dreams how many times does one fail before they give up and realize maybe just maybe this ain't the business for them?

Re: LSRC 326

Make sure you don't miss it!!!! Set a tent up at that exact crossing 3 days in advance and then wait for the train on the 26th. If you're there for the days before you'll get a rough idea the time and you wont miss the train on the 26th!

Re: Venice rail car sold to LSRC

GLC did not sell their dining car. It was loaned to LSRC for a run with the lettering sans reporting marks blanked out to avoid confusion on whose railroad was operating the trip. The car is back in Owosso with the rest of the GLC fleet. Thanks for the info, BK. But aside from us, does anybody real...

Re: Venice rail car sold to LSRC

If they bought it in 1982 from Amtrak do you think quite possibly that standards and practices may have changed? OR that they sold it cause it wasn't compatible back in the day and were getting rid of useless or non-standard equipment.....

I've seen 286k loaded cars plus numerous heavy loads use the flange bearing diamonds. 1225 has traversed it along with 765 with no issues.

Re: CN Diamond Charge

Sub-contractor that put it in? Ummmm.... Didn't know CN's own maintenance of way crews were sub-contractors. CN replaced their own diamond with their own crews. As for the $10k per axle charge... Smoke up the butt comment. There is a charge for using the trackage rights as laid out in the agreement ...
