Re: GLC PLOW EXTRA!!!

I caught the GLC north bound today with a short frieght and the plow bringing up the rear. Here are a couple short videos. Sorry about the low quality ... Enjoy.

Re: GLC PLOW EXTRA!!!

I think the plow is based in cadillac. I wonder if they will be plowing on the way north or the way south. They usually do it on the way up. Either way I hopw to be out for some photos. Any body else planning on going out?

Re: Plymouth Signals

Yeah I haven't made a trip to plymouth in a while, but I like to sit near station 885 or south of the diamond. Too bad we can't sit by the office anymore.

By the way, are they still using the cabooses on the locals in plymouth?

Plymouth Signals

Just wondering if anyone has pictures of the round tri-color signals that used to protect the plymouth diamond. A few years ago I took a trip down to try and get pictures when I heard they were being replaced, but I was too late. Also Does anyone remember the Tri-color signal that used to stand abov...

GLC in Fife Lake

GLC 393 came through Fife Lake today, running light. They picked up a box car in Kalkaska and headed back south. On the way up the crew encounterd a plow stuck near the tracks. They slowed and were able to creep by. Photos are in the Gallery http://railroadfan.com/gallery/albums/userpics/10457/thumb...

A good weathering job could probably take car of that blue and make it look more like a real TSBY engine anyway.

GLC derailment

I took a drive by Cherry Groweres in Grawn today. As reported by TC John on Michiganrailroads.com, a box car was indeed derailed. It looked like it was on the Cherry growers spur. By the time I drove by it looked like they had the car jacked up and were working to rerail the truck. Two high rail tru...

OK I did see that post. I guess I should have read the whole thing before posting this. Didn't make the connection. I wasn't sure if it was the same engine. So I guess it was in lansing today. Wish I could have seen it running though.

Nice pics Chris. I always enjoy railfaning plymouth. I havn't been there lately, but that is where I first caught the train watching bug. In the late 80's my dad and I used to park right at the diamond next to the yard office. I don't think you can get away with that anymore.

Here is a short video of the train passing Gilbert, just south of Manton. With only four flat cars in tow the rest of the train is waiting somewere to the south. Sorry about the poor quality video. I only have a small point and shoot digital with a video feature. Thought I would give it a try. http:...

cadillac report

I went to Cadillac today and found the yard packed with cars. Mostly sand cars from what I could see. Two GP-35s were building a train of cement cars, tank cars and pole cars. heading north to Manton Kalkaska and Elmira. 394 took the train north by its self and I think had to double a hill south of ...
