Cincinnati Barge & Rail down by the Boathouse loads 45-60 loads of pig iron for the steel mill in northern Ohio plus gets a few loads of lumber a month. On top of that there's a Kinder Morgan chemical terminal on Kellogg. .... I know the city of Cincinnati is trying to force that line to close from...

Lee when what that bottom picture of that engine taken? I looking in the back ground and it looks like a old 1970 Dodge Dart sitting there. Could have been my dads. He went fishing down there like three days a week and parked his car at Clare Yard. Those photos were taken in my high school days in ...

Pocahontas Clare Dome 1970.jpg This is a picture I found today of Clare Yard a view from the Mairemont Bluff I used to ride my bike from Terrace Park back in the late 60's to hang out at Clare. I spent many an hour in the Clare Tower - I wish I had taken more photos especially of the Passenger trai...

Thank You, I realized too late my mistake using Lake vs. Elk! I mixed up that name with the name of the RR through Cadillac.

I am a regular traveler along 131 through Constantine, Three Rivers, Schoolcraft Michigan on my north to Grand Rapids. There is always seems to be a northbound freight train in the siding just north of Three Rivers, is this the point known as CP Park? Do the northbound/southbound crews switch trains...

whatever happened to 3001? I was there on the day it rolled out of the shop, you could smell the paint! I was curious since the G & W takeover.

Navy and the Brook tail car have moved on... Where did the cars go? Babbling Brook was sold to a new owner out west IIRC and Navy 118 relocated to an Army base down south. Since I asked the question I have come to realize that "Babbling Brook" was at the NTD event in Grand Central and that Navy is ...

Boxcars in Manistee
I was in Manistee this weekend and for the first time I can remember, the boxcars/hoppers etc. that are usually parked in the small yard along US 31 north of the swing bridge were gone! I have never seen that yard area empty so where did they go? They were there Thursday but still gone yesterday...

Truly sad, there aren't many left!
Great Ludington Harbor CAM yesterday, Stewart Cort headed North and Spartan headed into Ludington.
Will be in Onekama on 15 December and maybe on 10 December, it would be fun to see the MQT Santa Train. Hope they get some snow soon.

Marquette in Manistee
I was in Manistee last week and decided to check out the engine/yard facility. My question relates to SD-40 3001 and the paint color on its trucks. I believe that I have seen 3001 with silver trucks in the recent past, the 3001 I saw last week had black trucks. Is 3001 still servicable? have the tru...
