CSX engine 2509 and caboose 904015 Chessie System B&O. (1:00 PM)

1:17 PM - Y121 heading back to Waverly with two M,M,&A boxcars and one "generic" boxcar (probably also M,M,&A).

Coal drag went by at 12:04 PM heading south to Holland (D803 or D801???) with BNSF 8979 and 8217 (in Sante Fe paint scheme).

Amtrak in to Holland depot at 8:27 AM. Engines 192 and 11. Heard on the local AM station WHTC that preliminary investigation into Friday's accident shows that it was the result of the train going 40 mph when it should have been doing 20 mph due to the restricting signal in the block. Heard dispatcher talking to a maintainer about a half hour ago about the defect detector at milepost 19.1 - they'll be looking into the false defect reports the detector has been broadcasting.

Yep - we're getting snow and sleet here on the north side of Holland. Just heard the dispatcher mention something about X500 - and that Amtrak would be on it's way.

Just curious...why couldn't Amtrak bring a train back last night? Was there no crew or locomotive available? Was the crew going to Chicago the same one that would have brought 370 back? I was told that since they were still doing cleanup and investigation, and there was trouble getting crews, equip...

I just got off the phone with Amtrak - they are planning to resume service tonight, scheduled to arrive in Grand Rapids at 10:20 PM.
