Re: WIP: Auran Trains 2006: "Turtle Creek Central"
Finished laying track on the V-Scale Detroit District. Includes the route to the Boat Yard, through Delray over CSX. Its pretty close to actual miles, takes about an hour and a half to go from Montpelier to Oakwood Jct. Still not satisfied with parts so I've been slowly deleting and rebuilding. http...

Re: CP TRAINS
Sounds like NS is kind of slowing CP down to move their own trains.
What were the reasons for CP going to the Wabash?

Re: CP TRAINS
After NS put all that money into the Wabash, and CP to hire and train crews, it seems uneconomical to reroute trains up to the old C&O. Even if they do move trains up there, they are still going to have delays, its still single track which ever way you go. Also heard NS and CP got in a pissi'n match...

The Spirit of Conrail (GP38 #2943) is no more; she'll become Cab Equipped Road Slug NS 708.
Also heres a good site to look up NS locomotives.

Re: Michigans busiest rail line?
WOW! You just don't get it. CSX is pretty close to what has been described in the last couple of posts. On CSX all Q trains have schedules that are posted in the computer, if the train does not adhear to the schedule, delays must be explained. If the train does not depart on time, the TM on duty wi...

Re: Michigans busiest rail line?
Trains do not run on a schedule. Trains have no set time to stop OR ARRIVE. A train may leave a terminal a set time when its needed. That dosent mean its scheduled. THERE is a fine line between A train being called, and trains being scheduled. A train is called as needed. If a train isn't needed its...

Re: Michigans busiest rail line?
Geeps you are incorrect in your interpretation of how railroads are calling trains anymore. Almost all railroads are going to a scheduled train concept. It gives the system more fluidity. While there are daily fluctuations in what trains are run, for the most part the scheduled freight and intermod...

Re: Michigans busiest rail line?
I'm sorry, but that's not true. Every train has a call time where the train is "on duty", but physically leaves late. The reason you'll see a train that is running at a later time than usual is because the fact the train had issues with connections or finding a rested crew. Example is how Q335's ca...

Re: Michigans busiest rail line?
Either one is likely to be dead, or fairly entertaining, depending upon the day. If I were looking purely for volume, I would likely choose Romulus. However, from an asthetic standpoint, the photo angles, the variety, the food nearby, the police (or lack thereof), and a spot to relieve yourself, Du...

Re: Michigans busiest rail line?
Was this on a weekend? Because on a sunday morning between the CSX and NS that can be possible, but weekday mornings it's barely half that level. It all depends on if CSX is running extras such as grain and coal, and when the CP trains depart out of Oakwood. As for Durand, Saturday morning-mid afte...
