Re: Cresson, PA 8/1/2009 and 8/2/2009
Sorry, 11J was actually M1J. I got them on the other side of the state, but I forgot it was an extra until I was logging it a few minutes ago.

Re: UP Notes
Thanks for posting this stuff, guys! I'm in PA and only get out to IL every couple years, but I love keeping up on ops for everything out there. hey Bob and RD, when are they going to run those dirty dirt trains out of New York that are destined for Texas? They ran a few already, though they stopped...

Re: pennsylvania railfanning?
Horseshoe Curve is about 2 1/2 hours away. I'd say the Harrisburg area is a much better bet. It's under an hour from Gettysburg, and there are probably more trains in this area than in Altoona. I'd recommend anywhere around Rockville/Marysville. The area around the Amtrak station is good in terms of...

The SD40E's were yanked off of the helper pool, so it's likely that we'll see them system wide now.

Re: CP/DME/ICE merger developments for ICE
Don, to my knowledge, they just changed terminals.
Jeff, I agree. I never was able to shoot the ICE on "home" rails on my trip to IL last summer, and it's disappointing to see the number and trains in daylight drop. Hopefully they'll get a KC-Chicago train eventually.

Re: CP/DME/ICE merger developments for ICE
Unfortunately, BEMC/MCBE are already gone. MCSV/SVMC (Mason-City-Savanna) replaced them. Also, they officially re-symboled everything. According to the ICE list, MCCNA/MNACC are now CP 273/272 and MSVMC/MMCSV are now CP 271/270. The SPKC/KCSP are now 1xx series trains.

Re: Conrail Historical Society
It's $25 for a regular membership, $35 for an online one IIRC. They are the same except that you get the quarterly publication in print for the $35 version and (I assume) PDF for the $25 publication. Well worth it IMO.Conrail Jon wrote:I'll be sure to look for ya! Been thinking about joining, how much is it?

Delta, OH
Does anyone have any info on Delta, OH? I'm considering building an HO module based on the west side of town where the two steel mills and IORY (ex-GTW) interchange are located.

Call me crazy but I don't remember the nazis trying to blow up any tracks in the Appalacians during WWII but then again I was in public school. They sent saboteurs here with the intent of blowing up a few things including Horseshoe Curve. EDIT: Here's a link about them. It's from Wikipedia so it mi...
