Re: Toledo to Stony Ridge, Ohio

Is the project dead? The improvements to the flow in and out of the north end of Stanley made several years ago (track reconfiguration) pretty much killed the need for the connector at this point and for the likely future. The original proposal drew vociferous public opposition and got indefinitely...

Re: And i thought the MAW's Tracks were Bad

Looks like temporary tracks for an industrial railroad - there are still parts of the world that do that sort of thing (Like the Irish Peat Bog railways). Temporary tracks get quickly slapped down on barely graded ROW's to extract materials and then pulled up and re-layed elsewhere when one area's p...

Re: Railroad Threats

Many of you have been to several different railroads all over the area and the country over the years, and have posted the results or summaries of what you saw and heard on those ventures. Have any of you ever had photos, comments or videos, that you posted on line, cause angst with the subject you...

Here's a shot of Sunday's Q109 rolling up the Branch on the north side of Findlay:

This new schedule will work pretty well for pictures - now just to catch it with some Belles.

Thanks for posting this here. Also worth noting there will be trips around Horseshoe curve over Memorial Day weekend. Now just to figure out what I can do... :)

The running time on Q10913 was very photo-friendly - anyone know what the power was?

Thanks,

Re: The New (and Improved) Q109

Q109-12 shows profiled in the "magic box" for CSX customers...the 8 hour round trip seems pretty aggressive, but, a good run for the crew if all goes well. In and out at NWOC is scheduled for one hour. CG Tower Looked like some padding in the transit time to/from but the hour turnaround at North Ba...

Well, if that's the case, it's a real shame.

Plan is to get rid of everything except the GP15's. They also have a Genset, which will stay. source and why? I can guess on the why part, Alcos are expenisve to fix and hard to get parts from, and I don't not believe you Y@, I just want to hear more of the story. Alco's aren't particularly worse t...

For starters, 285 and 281 are the CP's (Control Points). There's a set of intermediate signals at 282 but they're not CP's and MP 283 is just that, a milepost not a control point.

Re: NS Heritage Unit Location Updates

Interstate unit leading a Detroit bound 414 coke train out of Cleveland just after 3PM 1/25/13 - unless delayed, should get to Toledo by 5:30 ish but these trains often get tied down in town if not needed north right away.

NS 4148 ran on Q50004 from Lima to Defiance back on 1/5. Worked Defiance for a couple weeks. Got picked up by Q50824 and is sitting up at Toledo currently. And guess who I heard at lunch? "NS 4148 Y125 to RL, over"... Not getting back to NS real quick when it's over working Rossford.
