No they very much WEREN'T. More than a few (quite a lot actually) were funded by government bonds, NOT private venture capital.

There was a mixed freight sitting on the Trowbridge siding in East Lansing this morning on my way to work. Usually I see unit grain trains stored there for short periods, never a long mixed freight like this. Any idea what that's all about?
