Re: New Project Unmasked
It is a tough match...so I stopped matching. In the pic is just plain caboose red. It works for me. I once had somebody tell me that most of the prototypes don't look the same anyway, so the models being different shades is suiting. However, when/if you weather it the red takes on more of a dirty or...

Re: New Project Unmasked
Looking good, and we're anxious to see the finished loco. Question - what is the order of painting on the CN? White first, then red, then black? Or some other order? See ya. Haha, in an effort to not get my tripod out i needed to prop the loco to camera height. the puck makes a good masking tape collector, comes off easily.CSX_CO wrote:Interesting use of a hockey puck.

New Project GTW GP9R
Working on another project for somebody. This one is a CN GP40-2W. I was going to take pictures along the way but was overcome by laziness. :) Here are some pics with final mask work and the "reveal." Also inside a CV/GT 1776 loco (in progress). http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5050/5204019871_4c843fa...

Re: Looking ahead to the Circus - Auburn Hills Nov 10th
Looking at the computer I see CSXT 7 has been added to the train. Crew was on duity at 11:15 and has yet to knock down any signals. If they are on the secondary it will no show anything until they give the blocks back up. So they could be moving, but dont expect them into Toledo for at least anothe...

Stalked the circus train out of orion, led by 8591 solo. 60'ish cars. sitting in pontiac now. CN southbound dropping off cars in the yard with 2 SD60f's. when they dropped off last week there were a slew of flat cars, since one CSX engine was missing, do the crew and cargo travel as 2 separate trai...

Re: Mich Railroad Maps
Currently the MAL does have a jct with CSX. the map you saw which shows it connecting to the holly shows where the tracks have been removed. The MAL used to extend a long way, the short track now was only saved for the dinner train and the couple industries on the line. that track went all the way t...

Re: DEEX switchers
Well, i think i may just be on the right track. fate has it that i have a proto sw9/1200 and 2 athearn SW1000's sitting around in my "to be painted" box. I also have a SW7 phase 2 from Broadway Limited, i'm still learning the little details, but it seems similar to me to the SW9/1200. If i'm wrong, ...
