EB GRE over the Grand River around 10:30-11:00am. 25 cars including one Amway tank at the end. Still 15 or so along Ann Street at noon, all gone at some point this afternoon. Too cold to check King Milling, but I am sure it is loaded with hoppers. Also saw Grand Elk EB w/ 2 box cars going under US-1...

GRE Ann St. (Fuller Yard) has 3 tracks full of mostly King hoppers (looks like around 40). Lowell is mostly empty, so likely one or two EB's with loads tomorrow. If no trains to Lowell, not sure where they would put any more cars at Fuller?

GRE was switching the "yard" south of Lowell around 8:30 am. The main and 2 sidings were full. Lowell tracks by King are still mostly full, as they have been all week, with 10 or 15 cars south of town as well. Maybe thy will build a unit train loop if the fairgrounds are relocated!!

Lowell has covered hoppers for King and most tracks in town and two siding outside of town along Grand River. I did not hear GRE in town today. Happy New Year!

CSX local switching Alto at 2:00pm. #2659; looked like 7 tanks going in and 7 or more going out, plus 2 box cars.

Marquette went north at Comstock Park around 12:30 today. Not sure if they were late or early, but haven't seen them around noon for a long time. 3 locomotives, about 38 cars, mostly hoppers and grey tanks.

I know there is another thread for the Marion Branch, but I started this one. We followed this branch from Goshen to Wabash last Thursday. In two hours around noon we saw one NB and two SB's. One headed east at Claypool, plus one SB stopped on a siding just south of Claypool, so I assumed there was ...

All 3 tracks south of Lowell, including the mainline are loaded with covered hoppers. Most of the tracks in Lowell as well, including one track north of M-21. I have checked Ada to see if that track is still full. May have to reopen the line to Greenville just for King Milling car storage!

Left Ada about 3:30, to Lowell around 4:00pm. I counted over 30 hoppers. Taking some of them into Lowell.

I am taking a trip to central IN later this summer and was thinking of following the NS line south from Goshen. Does anyone know what kind of traffic activity is on that line? Thank you in advance.

30 or more covered hoppers on 3 tracks in the GRE Ann St. (Fuller) Yard this morning. They were all gone this evening and I did not see them leave the yard. Some are in Lowell tonight, but not all of them, unless they are stored somewhere other than the usual tracks in and outside of town.

Follow up to Buzzi, I was thinking that some of what was going to Elmira is now going to Grandville on CSX and trucked to Northern Michigan.

Question I went by the Buzzi Cement Plant in Grandville today on CSX. There were probably 30 covered hoppers on site. Is this the same company that bought the facility in Elmira, and was going to start receiving cement by rail this spring/summer?

Marquette Rail SB on GR Westside around 9:30pm tonight. 71 cars including 20 box cars; did not see any sand hoppers, but looked like some being loaded in Ludington today.

Maybe, but not a lot easier by Turner! I saw two sand trucks leave the Turner Yard and head south on US-131 earlier this week, not sure what that was about. Seemed like the wrong direction.
