Re: Train Length Question

That might work out west where there are wide open spaces and 400 mile long divisions through the desert with very few crossings There are railroad people that think that way now and it doesn't work very well in the real world Long trains are plagued with air problems and the slack action would rip ...

Re: Police announce enforcement of railroad laws

My Rant from my view point. People show the same disregard for the trains as they do for other vehiclular traffic, I't's nothing to have 3 or 4 near misses a trip Twice now I have had to yell at people from the engine to look behind them at the train about to run them down. They have been walking to...

Re: 10 Reasons to ride the Little River

That is a nice area for a train ride, Lots of history there. I caught it one a day a few years ago at Quincy when it was double heading and turned back for Coldwater. This was shot with a HP digital camera so the quality and sound are a little off. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EXLpVZANfII&feature=...

Re: Marshall, MI help

You should check out the library in town for some history of Marshall. The Michigan Central had repair facilities and a huge depot located there, The DT&M had a roundhouse, depot and a freighthouse there also. Part of the DT&M roundhouse was moved to Greenfield several years ago and rebuilt . There a...

by Todd Cline on Sun Apr 11, 2010 2:28 am Tazer, I see that you refer to "INGT" which was a later Conrail designation for that same train. I know that you were an employee of PC/CR so I can't really doubt your word, but I never heard of the IGT-4-A going via Jackson. Unless is was a temporary move ...

Re: Freight Traffic Split At Three Rivers

I worked the INGT quite a few times and there was always a problem with the long draw bars making around the curve at BO, It seems like the the car department would station themselves near the BO secondary when a train with a lot of high cubes would come through . Kelloggs would use high cubes also ...
