big THANKS

Thought I'd post this here as it does have to do with Model Railroading. Just wanted to hand out a big THANKS to conrailjohn and GTW4633 for the 2 SD40's I purchased from them(him) on ebay. Didn't know who the person was that was selling them at first until after I bought them. He even delivered the...

undecided

OK, I've got an issue with making a decision on whether to continue with my Gladstone Yard layout WC/CN/E&LS or change to another railroad. I have approx 35% completion on the Gladstone Yard layout but have come to the point of indecision on whether or not to continue with it or change to a Chessie ...

Re: n scale gladstone yard

Yes it would be a great switching operation,,but did not have enough space. Tried to talk the wife into letting me open the wall up into the bathroom but that did not go over too well.........thought I might do a few sidings with the paper plant on a backdrop though. Just not sure how to accomplish ...

Re: n scale gladstone yard

Update on the layout has 3 pictures. The model railroaders nemesis is selective compression. All surfaces have a base coat of green paint except the river, I haven't got to that yet. The first photo shows the future area for the E & LS Wells, MI yard and roundhouse and wye. You can see the lines for...

Re: n scale gladstone yard

Don't worry about nit picking thats what helps us make a better layout. The "hills" or chunks in the background are the base for the forest I will be installing soon. I just sat them there to see how they would fit and if I needed to make changes before I covered them with trees. I will have a "sky"...

Re: n scale gladstone yard

Posted a couple of new videos on Gladstone Yard....not the best quality video but it shows what I've done as far as scenery goes. There is no sound but some background noise. My layout is slowly coming http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t3UF7BVizsg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xq7JglOWBoA http://www.y...

Re: n scale gladstone yard

Ok here are some up to date photos on the progress of my layout. Eventually the scenery will be early to mid fall. The pictures show what I have gotten done in the area of landscaping. Another shows the staging area. This is actually my first attempt at scenery as the last 2 layouts I had never prog...

Re: n scale gladstone yard

Its been awhile since I did any work on my layout, especially during the last month or so. My mom passed away and my dog had to be put down....so I took some time off......but the best medicine to help with all the bad stuff is to get back to what you enjoy doing and that to me is model railroading....
