Not even a road train at the fuel pad, nor any job working the yard. some photos of BC Amtrak action from Sun. uploade...

Re: Green Frog Video- Michigan Fast Freights
It is easy to turn the sound down if you don't like the canned audio. I grew up in SW Mi in this era, was 14 when these films were recorded so seeing these brings back a lot of good memories, even though the rail era sucked with abandonments, mergers, bankruptcies. NYC green boxcars, DT&I, C&O..wow....

Re: New Diamond at Durand!?!
In the industry these kinds of diamonds are known as "OWLS" One Way Low Speed here's a closeup of one, installed on the BNSF near Prairie Du Chein, WI., where the old Q crosses the WSOR ex-Milw line from Madison to the Mississippi: http://www.heartlandrails.com/photos/pv.asp?pid=587 Saves big $$ on ...

Re: Man killed when struck by Amtrak train near downtown Kalamaz
I happen to know Suzanne Geha and her husband of over 25years Rick, who was my first boss (program director) when I worked at WIDR on the WMU campus. We are going WAY back now! When the station was closed-circuit AM to the dorms! I think she should be given some slack here. As sensational as the tea...

Re: Michigan Southern Railroad-info
MRV, The above post re: white pigeon is right on. That is the place to start, it is a time warp when you see the old depot/yard on the "old road". Lots of flavor. I grew up in St. Joe Co., so the Old Road is a personal fav. Depot in Sturgis is nice too, if you follow the job to Sturgis the diamond i...

Re: W MI photos uploaded to Heartlandrails.com
Hey, Ray, is this just north of 196? http://heartlandrails.com/images/slides/1996_07_01/CSXT2262sGrandRapidsMI070196-D702hr_sm.jpg Looking at the photo has me wondering, honestly. I'll have to refer back to my notes. The D702 was an evening departure from Wyoming, right? this must've been a train r...

Hi Everyone, I'm a newbie here. Found this board last week, excited because even though I live in WI these days, growing up in W. Mich and having family there means I get back from time to time and its always interesting to scope out the RR scene as it constantly evolves. Ray! Good to see you found...
