CN Pontiac-Orion Line Operations
I went by the Orion branch yesterday in Pontiac at Walton and Baldwin Roads. The rails looked really shiny, like they are being used a few times a week. Does anyone know when the best time to see any action on this line would be? I know the GM plant in Pontiac and the scrap yard north of the junctio...

Re: Who Else Wants A MI Railcam?
Wonder why he didn't put one here? Maybe not enough traffic to be worth the cost of the cam.justin_gram wrote:The guy who created Railstream is from/lives in Michigan, yes.

Who Else Wants A MI Railcam?
I think Railstream should put a webcam in Michigan. Maybe on the tower at Delray (with CSX's permission of course). The only reason I am saying this is because their PO box is in Trenton, so someone must live around there.

NS 1071 was north of 17 Mile yesterday. Not sure if it's still there.

Re: Coal Trains Going BYE BYE in Michigan
Ha ha, alright then. Although Royal Oak is a great place to railfan because there are a lot of restaurants. I like the burger place right by the tracks on 4th street.Norm wrote:Be sure to bring your lunch, and maybe dinner.TrainStuff13 wrote:When in general is the best time to catch a coal train on the Holly Sub?

Most Interesting Catches On The Holly Sub
I've been railfanning on the CN Holly Sub for years now (mostly in Royal Oak and Pontiac). It's not the most exciting place to railfan, but it has its moments.
