Re: NS Peavine talk
Had a report today that the new Purina Plant is really starting to take shape looks like they will be ready to operate by mid spring. This will bring big business for the CCET with maybe a four or five day work load.

Re: NS Peavine talk
Hello all, haven't been around for a month of so. Now semi retired I can now start rail fanning more. A few years back I thought that the Peavine would die off as they only have on major business the Ag and the customer at the old Ford plant with some storage. Now the Peavine is very busy with added...

Re: NS Peavine talk
Slight derail this week in Newtown Ohio went down and checked it out when my buddy told me the road was blocked. Got pretty close looks like wheels came off of the track but no cars turned over which is good for the CCET. Took several hours but they did manage to get everything back on the track. MO...

Re: Something with East Columbus Terminal Railway
So watched the latest video from this guy looks like his son and him have a train door business as well. A door fell off the tracks on a box car and it was rather interesting how that got the dang thing back inside the boxcar so it wouldn't move on the way back to the plant. Rather impressive video.

Re: NS Peavine talk
Northstar I have confirmed all your information and everything is correct. Sardinia did get a long term contract for the work at the new plant all is a go there. From the information I received this weekend the Peavine will be rather busy starting in the spring of 2022 when the business will be up a...

Re: NS Peavine talk
So yesterday I was talking to one of the managers for Sardinia Concrete Company. They are getting the contact for the new Purina complex on Half Acre Road. Purina just purchased another 85 acres of property to add on to what they have to build and additional building. Property out that way is statin...

Re: Where/what is this railroad(East Terminal?)? Actual real question.
I too have been following this guy on You Tube. Think he said in one of his early vids that the track is just less than a mile. Looks like most of the rail he bought is clean up for now but water is going to be a issue if he can't get it under control. He must have some kind of a deal with the condo...

Re: NS Peavine talk
Sorry I have been rather busy as we are doing a major construction project at work and haven't had much time for anything else. I did take a trip along the Peavine last weekend and see the CCET has many cars in storage out east. The rails have a shine talked to a guy who lives on Roundbottom Road ne...

Re: NS Peavine talk
My buddy Alex who lived here in Cincinnati for years moved to Atlanta just over a year ago after he was promoted by NS. Today we talked about the Peavine. Alex lived by the Peavine tracks for years when he and his wife purchase a home in Newtown. Back in the day NS ran this line often. I have inform...

Re: NS Peavine talk
Sorry boys been out of service for a month or so busy at work and at home. I been watching this thread and a few others long with Facebook the Peavine page and the CCET page as well as Jaw Tooth. Yes the Peavine is alive and healthy. Looking at the future the short line should do very well with the ...

Re: NS Peavine talk
Since I have been off I have checked out the CCET at Ancor and they have been rather active going east and back west in the afternoon to Clare. I can see of late they are haul more cars so the Ag must be pretty busy along with the paper plant in Batavia. Plus plenty of storage going out east The I&O...

Re: NS Peavine talk
Correct been reading this information today. The CCET will move 1500 cars for a week for 30 plus weeks. The CCET is making a major investment on the line with Hanson and the Ag as well. Moving gravel and grain and the new transloadrers will be a major plus of the line. They may need to do some exten...

Re: NS Peavine talk
Mike sorry haven't been posting for a few weeks. Yes there was a incident with Brian and a CCET employee up in Batavia I think. That issue is under investigation. Think the CCET took Brian's phone wouldn't give it back. The police were called and now everything is under investigation. I found out a ...

Re: NS Peavine talk
It was a great afternoon so I said why not get the bike out and take a ride up to Plum Road. So I headed east checking out the Peavine tracks going down side roads most likely the same ones Jaw Tooth films the CCET on you tube. I notice out east there are several tankers on sidings way out east Past...

Re: NS Peavine talk
Northstar right you are. I have been rather busy at work but have been in Newtown playing some golf during the week and the CCET has been running nearly every day going back to Clare at least three days a week. I have noticed they the Ag must be very busy as the grain loads are on a average of 15 ca...

Re: NS Peavine talk
I have been out of the loop here but I do know that Northstar walks his dog down by Clare Yard a few times a week and does talk to the NS crew and CCET crew down there as well. So the info he receives comes from the crew. The CCET can request more rail expansion from NS if they want to past Plum Roa...

Re: Saw this today in Chesterton Indiana
Think that is a UP engine. Think I saw that one in Columbus a few weeks ago behind a CSX power. Darn didn't know you were going up there today. If I knew that you could have brought me something back. There is a shop up there this guy holding something for me. Oh well I will be up there in April. Ch...

Re: I&O Oakley Yard
I stopped by on the way home tonight there was a large crane there putting the car back on the track. Kind of interesting to watch. Looks like there is going to be some track repair there as the car dragged a good 75 yards down the track before the stop was made. Looks like three cars went off the t...
