Re: Bellevue Questions, Sightings & Whatnot

A interesting train on the Sandusky line South(at Bucyrus) was a loaded coal train heading East. From my vantage point (about 2 blocks) the cars looked to be top gons. I don't recall seeing this train before.. :?: Supposedly these are the coal drags that previously ran on the OC to Mingo and are now...

Tyler,One can get mugged anywhere that's why I said one should use his street smarts-you looked like a sleepy victim and the bad guys saw there chance and pounced like the cowards they are.. Now if you look like I do people will give you a wide margine.. I been to Fostoria several times and never ha...

Re: Is it safe?

Marion has its bad areas but,the station is fairly safe..I say fairly safe because I always keep alert and mindful of city dangers-including potential trouble from intoxicated customer of the Shovel Inn. As far as Attica Jct be mindful there isn't a escape route in the event of a derailment or protr...

Re: Everything/Anything CF&E thread...

Thank you! Nice to know.

What are the symbol numbers?

These CF&E trains is rather interesting..One uses CSX locomotives and CSX grain cars and the Cargil train uses RailAmercia locomotives-meaning any road name RA operates-usually I&O GP40s..

Re: Everything/Anything CF&E thread...

Regarding Crestline, I spoke with a gentleman yesterday who is helping expand the grain/soybean facility there. He said right now there are two 300,000 bushel bins, a 500,000 bushel bin, a 700,000 one, and two one million bushel bins. That's pretty substantial. I'd say as lucrative as grain is to r...

Re: Fostoria cam.

I remember when that was going on.. A buddy of mine turned it on to it. What a joke. Some people really are too idiotic for this world. Being a moderator on three model railroad forums you have to clamp down on the miscreants in order to protect the forum and the solid members. Nothing will ruin a ...

Re: Fostoria cam.

I can't speak for alot of others, but I have been in conversations with many people on this board about this. I know I would have been willing to donate to help support this wonderful idea. I even was al set to make donations as soon as it was to be set up. But, I had taken offense to the "admins" ...

Re: Fostoria cam.

I don't know I enjoy it a lot even more so when its cold with 5 or more inches of snow on the ground with a stiff North wind..Gives me something to watch while I'm modeling. Now paying to be a member of a railroad, model railroad forum or a do nothing model railroad club..I don't think so. that make...

Re: Fostoria cam.

Wow, $10 per month (or $100 a year) is pretty steep, I think. I used to enjoy watching the Fostoria cam, and I would probably be willing to pay maybe $20 or $25 a year, but not $10 a month. I use to pay $10.00/mo in a do nothing HO club-unless you like to talk about everything except trains or mode...

Re: Everything/Anything CF&E thread...

PW, what are the odds of a Crestline eastbound out of lima on Saturday? I live in Bucyrus within view of the CF&E tracks and Saturday its usually dead unless the CSX grainer runs or CF&E has cars for Transco or Westside Feeds.I have seen CF&E in town on Sundays evenings. Several days can pass witho...

Re: Everything/Anything CF&E thread...

For what this is worth(and it may be very little) the past 2 nights has seen CF&E action in Bucyrus-one was in the wee hours of Tuesday morning and the other last night around 9:30 pm..I believe the one Tuesday morning was the local the one last night a grainer. BTW..By stepping out on my front porc...
