Was there ever much more business east of Winchester? I'm talking years ago. Always surprised there wasn't more lumber activity on the line. That's really the only industry in the region. Lots of timber sawn in Peebles and trucked down 32.

The Plum Run gravel is going to the Ready Mix concrete plant in Sardinia. CCET can charge their own rate, since it is not interchanging with NS. The line from Sardinia to Mowrystown is no more. They removed the RR bridge over Rt. 32 just outside of Sardinia last year. Does anybody have some background on the Peavine branch to Hillsboro/Mowrystown? I know the Hillsboro to Mowrystown section was pulled up quite a while back.
