CN Flint Sub ATCSMon From Durand Area to Port Huron

Unread post by Mike »

Hello all, I figured it was time to tell everyone what a few of us have been up to the past 6 months:

There has been a hand full of people involved in this project as in getting the recive sites up and running and decoding all the indications/control codes. I hope to release it to the public via the ATCSMOn yahoo group site in the next few weeks. The "KIT" will be download able via The Audio forum but you MUST have a login to view/access that part of the forum...

The Layout that is shown below is about 80% working once we get it over the 90% mark it will be released for all to enjoy. For thouse of you that have not seen this it is LIVE we are reciving the Radio Code line and showing it on the screen....

This shot shows the Switch Heaters that are on at the plants.

I firgured it was about time I told everyone what we have been up to.

There are two rec. sites on-line with Port Huron coming in the next few weeks. Ok by now your wanting to know what a rec. site costs well we have taken it to the extream. Every site has:

1. 1 13dbm 900Mhz Yegi Antenna ($125.00 Value)
2. 30 - 50ft of LMR-400 Coax ($80.00 with ends)
3. 1 MDS-1000u radio ($150.00 - $200.00 used 3,000.00 new from the late 80's)
4. 1 1.5 GIG PC with 512Mb ram ($150.00 used)
5. 1 VA700 UPS

We figure its about 500 - 700 per site by the time its all said and done.

If anyone has questions please contact me via the Audio site..

One last thing by the end of this coming sumer the system will be complete from Port Huron to Battle Creek and the hole Holly Sub as well.

Great job. Just to confirm what I'm reading this will be available for live feed across the internet?
I currently watch the Bayview Ontario feed and it's a good heads-up as to when something is coming my way. Usually 40 min for a freight.
Will Port Huron include a route lined through the tunnel?

Also in the ATCS vain, I'm working on a package for the West side of the state CSX, has been gracing us with new ATCS enabled control points over here. Look for it around the 2nd quarter of 2008.

Hello all,

I will be in need of a Cherry picker for an install in the Port huron area. anyone that knows someone that will let us use it or bring it to the site and operate it for the afternoon please let me know. This will light up everything from Port Huron to CP W. Shaftsburg almost 100 miles of CN trackage!!!!

also need help getting this project done. I said to myself when Dan Long Died that I would get this done and so far not much has changed. Mostly do to not having sites to install at. So please either donate to the greatlakeslive.com site or be a site host for us...

I am sick of seeing it less dark then lit!

Thanks,
