Would you happen to see how many cars per switch at Webb?
Its not very consistant. the December 12th i saw them at the switch with only one sodium hydroxide tank, a few days ago i saw them pull 8 mixed tanks. Usually i see them with 4 to 6 though

Thanks, so does 2-3x per week with 4-6 cars each time seem about the norm? If it is Webb is busier than I thought.

Webb was even busier before the recession. They used to receive more types of chemicals, and were switched every day. I'd say an average of atleast 5 cars per day...

I recall on your website Webb was getting more cars at one time and I thought I read a lot of that increase was ethanol? IIRC the ethanol business went away.

Yes, they did get quite a bit of ethanol as well as others, but no more unfortunately.

Last nights Z627 (Z627-18) went south at 11:40 after working bay logistics. Big train!
MMRR 3836
GRE 3839
CF&E 3885
2 boxes
40 sandies!

at 10:30am CF&E3885 came north through grand haven with 6 sandies and a tank. nice daylight run.
I got a few good shots of them but i didnt have time to make the bridge in grand haven. Low waters have made for some great angles for shots of the train crossing the bridge.

If its like all the other "new" units that end up in muskegon, it will sit at Henry for a few months before anything real happens with it. Then it will end up on a local once or twice before going back to Henry for a while (unless something happens to any of the 3 regulars on which it will end up doing the daily work) Im going up to north yard to check it out for the first time some time this week

I have gotten word that Ludington is now shipping Sargent Stuff, so this would account for lower sandie counts.

The northbound had 72 covered hoppers. Im presuming those are for sand loading. But is there a possibility they would load those at the coop in Fremont?

Nope, all sandies. Fremont is switched two times a week now though, Tue & Thur.

Fremont has been switched Tuesdays and Thursdays for quite a while now. Not much new there.

Is it mostly outbound grain from Fremont, or do they get some inbound cars as well?
