New NS Special Coming Soon

I've been told (and had visual confirmation) of a specially painted SD60E to be unveiled by NS soon. I've only seen the "painting-in-progress" shot, but I can say it isn't what I expected and it isn't the most appealing thing I've ever seen. Can't tell you what the theme is supposed to be, because I really don't know. Also cannot share the picture at this time. Not sure when it will be released.

A vinyl patch on the side of the locomotive isn't much more than an NMRA decal on the side of the engine. It sounds really neat for the NMRA, but it's a long way from a special paint job. I would even guess that the patch was applied indoors to keep the surface clean as they applied the decal, not because they really needed the paint shop to apply it.

NS 6531 SD60 has been rebuilt to NS 6963 SD60E and features special GORAIL decals and modified NS paint scheme. We should be seeing official photos from Norfolk Southern soon. We'll share them with you. www.altoonaworks.info
