Re: CSX Locomotive Roster News, Updates & Information Thread
CSX 2420 and 2421 in recent times would be SD40-2s renumbered for yard duty, and or possibly derated as SD38-2S units.

thats what I'd thought as well, but all i can find, and the diesel shop (stop laughing) still shows them as active as former SD35M's. i can't find any pictures of the SD40-2 variant.

According to CSX Photos on Trainweb, which is not always up to date but historically accurate, there is no CSX 2420 or 2421 currently rostered and there hasn't been for some time. http://www.trainweb.org/csxphotos/roster.htm

Re: CSX Locomotive Roster News, Updates & Information Thread
Recently 6 switchers have ended up on Q410 heading to Selkirk. I'm wondering if they are going for inspections, storage, prep for sale, or ? Numbers are 1210, 1226, 1170, and coming are 1218, 1223, 1186. Any help would be appreciated, I didn't see any other reporting marks or signs on the units.

More recent new CSX YN3b repaints beside 99 include 39, 342 formally YN2 and 316, 8460 formerly YN3. 316 was a repair from a wreck fire damage.

New Rebuild CSXT 7807 CM40-8 has been spotted YN3b

Re: CSX Locomotive Roster News, Updates & Information Thread
7807 is not a "new" rebuild. This is one of ten C40-8W units rebuilt several years ago turning them in CW40-8M units (called by GE & CSX differently) as a precursor to the current program now going on at Erie taking CW44-9AC units and turning them into 7000 & 7200 Series. The other nine rebuilt (to a degree) were 7771,7774,7779,7780,7786,7787,7799,7804,7811. The current program is more involved than the previous one.

The only reason I mentioned it was because it was in Fresh YN3b

Hi I’m Bill . Is there any more rebuilt GE of both 7000’s and 7200’s ? What about the rebuilding SD70AC so far? Is there any other rebuilding programs CSXT planned this year?

I think we are due for an update. It’s been nearly a year.

Re: CSX Locomotive Roster News, Updates & Information Thread
Have had a few AC4400's pass thru recently with stacks capped heading north toward Selkirk. I'm guessing either coming out of storage or heading to GE for rebuilding. Units were: 305, 128, 81, 280, 438, 238, 97, 315. Also 584, but don't think that would be rebuilt yet.

Re: CSX Locomotive Roster News, Updates & Information Thread
Question about the rebuilds.
One source said:
All 7000’s , 7200’s are CM44ACs.
Another said:
7000s - CM44AC, not heavy (rebuilds will be from #s 1-199 series)
7200s - CM44AH, heavy (rebuilds will be from #s 200+)
Which is correct?

Re: CSX Locomotive Roster News, Updates & Information Thread
The split is correct, as highlighted in red.
I do want to get back into tracking the roster more closely again. I got thrown off in March when the pandemic hit, and it got out of habit. Plus, I've been tracking COVID data, so that kinda took its place.
I guess I have some catching up to do

I am wondering what AC4400's these CM44's where rebuilt from;
7006-7010, 7216-7219, 7221, 7224, 7230
Trying to fill a gap in my roster
