The update Lehigh Valley heritage unit has been released. I like it much better than the prior version. http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.p ... 320&nseq=0

Looks just as good now as it did before. I just wish I could have caught it before they went back and added the stripes!

Did more then just add the stipes. Changed the diamond around the LV on the nose to white as it should have been and painted the corner handrails orange as they should have been.

2 more Aces to come this weekend, and an ES44
Norfolk Southern heritage fleet to grow by three Friday and Saturday
MUNCIE, Ind. – EMD’s plant in Muncie, Ind., expects to release the next two SD70ACe’s to Norfolk Southern tomorrow. The two locomotives being released are Reading No. 1067 and Erie No. 1068. As reported in a June 6 News Wire update, the two locomotives will move to Chattanooga,Tenn., to be placed in service instead of Conway, Pa.

Norfolk Southern’s Chattanooga, Tenn., paint shop is scheduled to release the Monongahela heritage ES44AC No. 8025 this Saturday, which is the last GE locomotive scheduled to be repainted in heritage colors.

After this weekend, 14 of the 20 heritage locomotives will have been released, leaving only six SD70ACe’s to ship from Muncie. Norfolk Southern plans to ship the final EMDs directly from Muncie to its yard in Linwood, N.C., to prep the locomotives for the gathering of all 20 heritage units at the North Carolina Transportation Museum on July 3 and 4.

That would be pointless when you already have a Elkhart-Linwood train.

They've changed it again since that photo was taken. Looks much better, IMO, now that the reporting mark and numbers are in the correct font

The picture James posted was a pretty obvious photoshop job by someone. NS only changed it once, and the newer version looks much better and more accurate.

The Wabash has been ready for a week now, but they've pushed back the unveiling twice now.

MUNCIE, Ind. - EMD has delayed the release of the Reading and Erie heritage locomotives from Friday until today June 19 to finalize some adjustments. The Reading No. 1067 and Erie No. 1068 will be picked up by a Norfolk Southern local today and should make a connection to an outbound train toward Chattanooga later tonight.

Painting and decaling of the Wabash No. 1070 is now complete and should emerge from the plant tomorrow, with the Central Railroad of New Jersey No. 1071 making its debut later this week.

NS will hold the final six locomotives and move them in a special train to ensure they arrive in time for the gathering of all 20 heritage locomotives at the North Carolina Transportation Museum in Spencer, N.C., on July 3 and 4. The six units being held are Virginian No. 1069, Wabash No. 1070, Central Railroad of New Jersey No. 1071, Illinois Terminal No. 1072, Penn Central No. 1073, and Delaware, Lackawanna & Western No. 1074.

NS has chosen SD70ACe No. 1030 to represent the modern Norfolk Southern at Spencer next month. The engine was chosen since 30 in the road number represents the number of years Norfolk Southern has existed.
