3242 and 3243 on a K616-18. Should be their first revenue runs.

Thanks again, Russ.

Haven't yet confirmed it, but it sounds like the ES44AHs above 3249 are the next "Drive for 65" casualty. Only issue, is that since 3175-3249 are Tier 3, they're supposed to matched with a Tier 4 unit, unless I'm missing something.

Not that long ago the rumor was a official was mad their position was cut and had cancelled this order out of spite. So I guess we'll see.

Scratch CSX 4521 off your YN2 list. It's currently in the CF&E yard at Lima on the Y102 transfer in YN3B

CSX EMDs in the YN2 scheme have begun to dwindle significantly, so it was nice to see SD60M #8739 (one of the two remaining YN2 ex-CR SD60Is) out leading a train on the Toledo Subdivision today. Photo was taken in Columbus Grove, OH (evident by the water tower).

Since the YN2 EMDs continue to fall, here is a full list of all remaining of that type.

Highlighted in red are marked "recommended retirement", those in green are known rebuild units. Further, many of these units that are unmarked are still OOS for various reasons, including long-term storage: which is most likely going to result in retirement or rebuild.

So let me get this straight, we went from just under 1000 YN2 locomotives to less then 100 according to your list? That seems pretty drastic isn't it or is CSX going berserk with the paint?

And you said "full list remaining of that type"...

EMD... Crap... :x

Re-read the first line, out loud perhaps, and it will make sense

Sounds like 8888 and a couple other Dash-2's are getting ready to head west to be rebuilt to Dash-3 specs.

Well I wasn't gonna put it up here until we had 100% confirmed it, but I guess you read what I said over there and so here we go...

We have a well-sourced report of the CSXT 8888 leaving Huntington yesterday for Russel, KY. Supposedly routed from there to Avon to East St. Louis for the UP and onto Boise. We knew it was an engine failure that took it out of service. So if it is moving, yes it will be a Dash 3 sometime soon.

I'm 90% sure it is true, I just want to be 100% before everybody freaks the hell out. Hence I didn't post here right away, while waiting for our contacts to do their thing.

The CSXT 8888 is CONFIRMED to be on the move. Thanks to those who helped with the confirmation :D

It is currently on L311-08 to Avon, so if you're out and about, go get 'er!

Better photo courtesy of the CSX Tracker FB page. Seems CSX is doing "Heritage Logo" locomotives. Some however comment, this is a magnetic sticker so CSX can keep their trademark and is a yearly tradition per members of the SCL Society. Whatever it is, atleast it's SOMETHING. Not to par with NS and UP, but something.

Didn't know if I could post the photo that way, or had to link. Now, will it be just decals? I would guess yes.
