- 4292

Any help is much appreciated.

Does anyone know the status of the units that were wrecked in Fonda NY a few years ago? The units involved were all CSX units and the units were 4759, 5394, 7732, and the 5418. These units at one time were staged at Selkirk but not sure if those units are still there?

The Chessie Sticker unit apparently caught fire today in PA.

Yup, 366 very much toasted. Whole mid-section thoroughly burned up, had to be put out by the Pittsburgh Fire Department. Doubt we'll see this one back online without a repaint.

This is a special mid-month rebuild update.

We'll also be including these in our full March update, but it has been awhile since we've had good rebuild numbers, so we're catching up and now have all numbers which are known to exist thus far in the rebuild process, so several of these units are not out yet.

For those not already aware, 2000 series units are now GP38-3s, various series in the 4000s are SD40-3s and 6500 series units are GP40-3s

***4294: This unit is NOT a new SD40-3 because an old GP39 still occupies the number slot. We were wondering if they'd move it, but thus far, that hasn't happened.

4294 seems to have found a home in South Jersey, the Camden area. Maybe they are waiting for it to retire itself instead of renumbering?

According to Facebook CSX 3010 one of the newer Tier 3 Gevo's has become the latest "sticker" unit. The Gainesville Midland is on the front of this one. The Gainesville Midland operated primarily in Florida.

Is 4294 the last straight GP39?

Thanks for the aid, however I forgot to note that we received all the data that we need the other day. We'll be sure to keep it posted what data we need as that need develops. :)

33 of the 57 remaining B40-8s and B20-8s are stored and marked for retirement. Will update when we have word they've officially been removed from the roster.

To squash any speculation and or rumors, CSX is NOT scrapping any of the AC6000's. In fact a lot of them are being rerated to the "AH" designation for high adhesion.

Looks like the 8842 ,8444, 8458, and 8855 have made the journey towards Boise to join in the SD40-3 rebuild program.
