CSX 5960,5961 and aforementioned 5973 are in CR paint, as are 1541, 1554, 2497, 2758 (in the deadline at Huntington), 2796, 4420, 6981, 7358 and 8817 are also missing from the above list. 8817 is assigned to CSAO though.

CSX 8819 and 7929 are no longer in CR paint.


Still wish the Conrail units were easier to find like they were when I first started railfanning back in 2007.

I saw 7302 trailing on a Westbound intermodal on the NS Chicago Line in Swanton Ohio on 10/1/10..Leader was the CSXT 7395..Saw a video of the same train two days later in Illinois.

CSX 7374 came out of Selkirk on K409 today, and was switched onto K408 to head east to Selkirk in Buffalo, this time leading.

There are currently 22 Conrail, and one LMS painted units remaining, with only 20 active. Any other locomotive from previous lists I have seen photos as painted except for GP15-1 1554 which is in Huntington painted, but awaiting parts before reactivation. They are listed below in numerical order. If anyone has photos, or seen these for verificaation of painting, please post.

2758 has been stored at Huntington since 1-6-10, and 2796 since 7-21-10. Both will be painted before they leave. 5961 has been supposidily stored at Corbin since 3-4-09. 7326 has been ordered to Huntington for paint and will be arriving soon.

I had it on one of its last trips then. It was my third unit on Q15326 to Chicago the other night. When we got to Bedford Park they were talking about inbound power, and said that our consist needed to be turned because the 7326 was B/O for speed recorder.

In recent months, several CSX locomotives has been ordered to Huntington strictly for paint only, yet has taken months for them to get there. One example is C40-8 7530 which finally got there and was painted yet took a very long time to do so. I currently have eight units on my list as showing sent to huntington work, including the 7326 above with the B/O speed recorder and paint but few are known to have arrived there yet. None the less, they remain on my "watch for" list for upcoming new repaints.

Current YN2/YN3 count as of 10/31/10 is 1,523 painted YN2, 2,503 painted YN3. Total YN2/YN3: 4,026
Pre YN2 Paint Total: 23. Pre CSX Paint Total: 24 (CR 22/ LMS 1/ NS 1 Total on Roster: 4,073

CSX 2730 is the Defiance local power right now. CR paint is holding up very well.

With the recent repainting of Conrail GP40-2 mother unit 6981 at Waycross, it leaves now only 4428 as the last Conrail GP40-2 on CSX, and lowers the count of the Conrails left to 21, plus one LMS unit, and only 19 remaining active.

CSX 7326 went south a few days ago on Q211 (Louisville,KY-Baldwin,FL, I think).

Also a bit of a side note, prior to October 2010, someone painted the Class Lights CR Blue! Kinda odd, as many of the older CR locomotives on CSX have retained their class lights.
