NS Heritage Fleet Thread

Unread post by cbehr91 »

http://trn.trains.com/en/Railroad%20New ... fleet.aspx

From TRAINS newswire, NS will create a fleet of 18 locomotives - 8 GEVOs and 10 SD70ACes - in honor of their 30th anniversary as a tribute to their company's predecessors. The railroads that will have units painted are in the article.

Discuss.

Still in shock - feels like an "Aril Fools" post but it's on Trains Newswire!

Hallelujah! It'd be nice if CSX would do the same, with Heritage engines for Chessie, B&O, C&O, Seaboard System, ect.

So who wants to post up a picture of each of the older 18 schemes so we have something to compare the new NS units against?
One, two, three..not it!

Really glad Wick Morrman and the NS Gang have realized what the UP has done with their "Heritage Fleet" and the amount of attention they get as well as coverage. Personally I'd love to see all the NYC, PRR Tuscan, CR, PC, New Haven and EL locomotives together. Even the Wabash in passenger scheme would be kick arse on the Wabash!

Already in the works, but don't count on any big announcement.

Holy crap! Thank goodness they are going back to the Southern and NW mergers of the 60's and beyond too.

Can't wait to see a Wabash, Blue Bird Thundercab.

Can't wait to see these. I've been hoping CSX would do the same, but I won't hold my breath.

The SOUTHERN painted S&A unit is from when the SOU purchased lines and painted them all in SOU paint but put the railroads name spelled out on the long hood. This is NOT the paint they are going to do. So far after a half hour this is the best shot I could find of a S&A unit.
