MTH did 3001 and 3002, both in the 3001 style paint. No, it's not right, but that's common among the O guage Mfg's.

Hi Rail O gauge is essentially a really expensive toy, they are not accurate models in just about any dimension or paint scheme. They are fun to play with but not for rivet counters at all.

O scale and O gauge are similar in pricing with 2 rail being a little more expensive because of the smaller market

The MQT models look like typical MTH garbage to me. Hard to find accurate models in O scale/gauge

I like the WM, the CR and the NW the most, I wish CSX and NS would do that...

They do make rivet county worthy O Scale stuff but O Scale and O Gauge are two entirely different animals.

I've always been wondering out of all the railroads MTH does paint schemes for, how in the world did Marquette Rail's GLLX 3001 make it into production? I mean out of all the major railroads (both past and present) MTH has done, how did a shortline that has been around for only 7 years in Michigan make it into a major toy train company production? I mean, that's really something to think about and maybe even take pride for.

You can make O scale look good, but with a little work. Currently the O community is more into RTR than kit-building, so concessions to detail have been made. I model the DT&I in 3-rail O, but operate scale equipment.

Try the Alaska RR, Utah RR, Montana rail link, Iowa interstate... I could go on. It may seem like I'm comparing size but I'm not all of these RRs are well run and prosperous with a lot of traffic.

Not sure about Utah RR, but I know Alaska RR, Montana Rail Link, and Iowa Interstate are ALL REGION there are several stellar railroads out there, but there is no doubt that MQT is up there as one of the greats. Other examples I can think of are the Florida East Coast (FEC) and the Forth Worth Western (FWWR), among others

I know... I consider regionals to be short lines... Like GLC is a "regional" I still call it a short line but that's just me.
